Power Consumption Systems Engineer - Mobile Communications
Test Linux embedded systems, windows-based, and network applications. Fluent with ARM based platforms and mobile architect of
Linux/Android and RTOS Devices. Familiar with the individual layers of the OSI model including TCP/IP protocol. Use of Internal &
commercial Apps for automated testing (use of adb commands).
Systems Test Engineer (2010 to present)
Define test strategy. Test, diagnose & resolve problems . Analyze test data to identify platform defects, SW issues, provide failure analysis &
locate issues prior to official SW release. Develop, enhance, implement & prepare automated (scripting) test cases/plans of system
applications. Test scripts written in XML format, utilizing an internal SW test tool. Provide recommendations of test coverage improvement &
upgrade of test environments for optimized test measurement s. Work w/ cross-functional teams, to ensure tests/equipment & process
meets expected standards for existing & new applications (Familiar with 3GPP, IEEE 802.1x, Ericsson, AT&T standards).
Emphasis on SW performance within the stack & lower layer protocols of the OSI MAC. Create tools as needed to allow for automation of
new test equipment. Provide technical training to interns, team members and other teams personal.
Ownership of several test setups; which includes equipment procurement, calibration, & maintenance.
Occasionally conduct field & validation tests located at outside agencies.
Mainly worked within 2 disciplines (but not exclusive); CBT & SIM, conducting Alpha and Beta, as well as, W hite (internal platforms) and
Black (Customer platforms) box testing,
(1) CBT: Customer Based Testing - Perform functionality & validation testing, consisting of simulation and emulation.
*The sole individual in charge of developing, implementing & maintaining tests. Work alongside the Customer platform team to locate & help
solve issues.
RF Tests coverage: GPRS (2G), EGPRS (2G), WCDMA (UMTS – 3G), HSDPA/HSUPA (cat8), HSPA+ (cat 10/14), LTE (4G).

Basic Modem functions: NW Acquisition, CS calls (voice), PS calls (throughput), SMS calls .
Multimedia functions: Camera, Video, Audio, YouTube, etc. ( capturing, cropping, rotating, etc.).

(2) SIM testing
*The sole individual in charge of developing, implementing, & maintaining a SIM test device called LOGOS Multiplexer.
Tests include all areas of SIM protocol, which involve the HW/SW interface of the SIM ; EF-IMSI, ISIM, PLMN, ADN, FDN, SDN, Security,
NFC, etc., including Thermal SIM testing.
Power Consumption Engineer (2006 to 2010)
Power optimization of Broadcom’s Baseband, and the surrounding circuitry (Emphasis on the Baseband chip and its performance).
Optimizing power consumption while in idle mode and during all user activities. Analysis all main signals of baseband chip and signals that
are producing large or questionable current. This may result in HW, FW and SW analysis.
Consisting of Analog & Digital evaluation
Conduct Schematic reviews on customer and internal platforms.
Locate root cause (which may involve; a full breakdown study of signal (including calculation of duty cycles, evaluating/reviewing data
sheets, shifting of registers, internal builds, slight HW modification, etc.).
Develop automated test and measurement system.
Develop tools to capture and graph specific issues, which also may have involved driver manipulation.
Support Hardware and Firmware design teams. Conduct coordination/driving with other teams to investigate their area of expert ise (ie:
stack, drivers, etc.). Many times unable to do all the analysis/diagnoses but are integral in driving and participating in finding the root cause
and solution through other groups. Provide groups with supporting evidence to prove where/what the root cause is before they invest igate.
Civil Engineering Designer – Specialty: Grading Prior to August 2006
Involved in the design (and drafting) of proposed and final plans within the full spectrum of Civil engineering.
Land development projects (Private lots, Subdivisions, Industrial parks & commercial developments); Include Tentative Tract Maps,
grading, street, storm drain, sewer & water improvement plans, erosion control and plot plans, street lighting, and sub -drain layout,
hydrology maps (ensuring LA County flood control specifications and standards, etc .), earthwork quantities, and hydraulic calculations.
Infrastructure projects: Pumping stations, Waste Water Treatment plants, Electrical Hydro plants, Instrumentation/process pi ping layouts,
Subway design (Metro LA), Light Rail transit design (metro LA), etc.
