Managed a team of project managers, network and security

engineers responsible for service management of all outsourced

telecom and network operations. Developed technology roadmaps

and controlled department OpEx budget of $5.7 M. Provided

monthly operations review to IT Leadership team. Developed

continuous improvement plans based on metrics driven management

of outsourced partners and 3rd party suppliers.

Accomplishments include:

. Cost Reduction. Led an initiative to renegotiate the legacy

AT&T telecom agreements that resulted in favorable terms and

25% reduction in annual expense.

. Project management. Managed all IT functions in the

headquarters office move. This included costs, resources,

risks, communication, and procurement planning.

Tellabs Operations Inc.

IT Manager - Global Network Operations & Engineering (February

2007 - April 2012)

Managed a global team of data, voice, and security engineers.

Responsibilities included management of the procurement,

deployment, delivery and support of all network and telecom

services. Managed an annual CapEx budget of $2.7 M and OpEx

budget of $4.1 M. Developed network, security and telecom

standards. Oversaw carrier management, hardware & software

asset management, and TEM services. Supported +800 node network

infrastructure and datacenter, which included firewalls, WAN

acceleration, load balancing and enterprise monitoring.

Accomplishments include:

. Business System Solutions. Led RFP process to select an

alternative MPLS, Internet, voice carrier, which led to the

migration to Verizon's PIP, DIA, LD and local voice services.

. Project management. Managed an initiative to upgrade a core

network infrastructure of a North America datacenter. This

cross-functional project included managing risks and

coordinating the activities to shut down and successfully

bring-up the application, server, and network environments.

This project was completed on-time and on-budget.

Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc.

Identified and implemented strategic business opportunities.

Responsibilities included strategic planning, early-stage

technology assessment, financial modeling, contract

subscription based online gaming service for Internet

RCN Corporation [October 1997 - August 2002]

Senior Manager - Telecom Services (March 2002 - August 2002)

Managed a team of 25 employees. Directed the daily activities of

transport, data and telephony operations. Identified

departmental inefficiencies and developed strategies to improve

operations. Participated in the efforts of the ICOMS billing

migration, which included planning and managing reconciliation

projects to ensure the transfer of clean data. Collaborated with

engineers to plan the requirements and standards for new product

evaluation and rollout. Successfully operated within an annual

budget of $3.3 million.

. Network Operations. Led the initiative to develop and

implement a market business continuity and disaster

recovery plan.

Senior Manager - Data Operations (December 1999 - March 2002)

Provided regional support of all data operations, which included

maintenance of NT and UNIX web hosting systems, Internet

systems, DNS, email, dial-up, news services, and networking

components. Planned, established, and maintained the overall

departmental policies and goals. Managed a team of 30 employees.

Implemented and oversaw the daily operations of the 24x7 Network

Management Center for 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support, which

included NT and UNIX system administrators, network

administrators and engineers. Responsible for facility

management of data centers and remote pop locations. Operated

within an annual budget of $2.5 million. Interacted with

Marketing/Sales team to develop new product offerings and

additional revenue streams.

Accomplishments include:

Business System Solutions. Lead the application development and

rollout of a new HSD provisioning system. This resulted in the

reduction of lost equipment and increased provisioning efficiency.

Employee Development. Managed team with lowest employee turnover rate

in the market. Developed and implemented in-house training sessions

that improved employee operational and theoretical knowledge. This

resulted in 20% increase in employee productivity.

Manager - Network Operations (October 1997- December 1999)

Managed the field operations group that maintained a HFC (Hybrid

Fiber Coaxial) and SONET network, which provided cable modem,

telephony and video services. Evaluated and developed strategic

migration plans to upgrade the data network with minimal impact

to customers. Negotiated equipment purchases, support contracts

and established excellent vendor relationships.

Accomplishments include:

. Network Deployment. Developed, project managed and

implemented the deployment of a Cisco and Nortel/Arris WAN

with a FORE Systems ATM backbone to provide cable modem

services. Project was completed on time and within budget.

. Network Solutions. Led initiatives to organize and

implement a preventative maintenance program for the RF,

SONET, and Data networks.
