The project is regarding building a Dataware house for the Insurance Business of RBS. Here in CSR

initially some Datamarts were built to take reports. But this was not flexible enough to cater to the new

Requirements. So we went for smaller building blocks called Components. These are nothing but

Dimension tables which are derived from one or more source tables. A map table is used to relate these

source tables and this map table will provide SKs. We did POC for this and in first release we delivered

21 components. Based on the requirements we will build components with or without temporalness (SCD

2/SCD1). Here we handled error handling, logging and other standard procedures.

Roles and responsibilities

:

•Work with Business Analysts in gathering the Requirements, Use Metadata required for test case

development and execution.

•Ensuring the team are working in line with the client’s vision and objectives, to building trust and

open communication within the team; managing, training, helping and resolving issues.

•Coordinated meetings, reviews and presentations, and gathered project data and analysis for

reporting.

Solvency II Release 1.2 October 2010 –July 2011

Role ETL Developer The Royal Bank of Scotland, UK

Solvency II is a European Union Directive which defines capital adequacy requirements for

insurance companies. The aim of the Solvency II is to ensure the financial soundness of insurance

undertakings, and in particular, to ensure that they can survive difficult periods. The project is regarding

building a Dataware house for the Insurance Business of RBS and smaller datamarts are built from this to

generate reports. Solvency II Release 1 is to extract data from different source systems such as Liabilities

systems (UIS) and Business Systems (XOLAR, ROAR). The purpose of Solvency II Release 1 Project is

to transform and load the files/datasets for the Liabilities system (UIS files, ROAR datasets) from the File

Landing Area (FLA) to Relational Landing Area (RLA). SAS DI jobs are developed to load and process

files/SAS datasets on FLA and upload data to the RLA onto the respective tables. Before loading the

files/SAS datasets to RLA, the components developed will be used for checking the existence and non

corruption of the files/SAS datasets.
