GENERALIZED SKILLSET
• Able to obtain complete histories and perform comprehensive and problem-focused physical examinations.
• Extensive experience assessing patients for various conditions then ordering appropriate tests/studies (ECG,
MRI/CT, U/S, laboratory studies, X-rays) for evaluation to assist with implementing a treatment plan.
• First assist with complex and routine spinal surgeries, positioning the patient on the OR table, perform traction of
tissue/muscle, assist with implantation of fusion hardware, assist with deep tissue and skin closure. First assist
with brain surgery for acute hemorrhages. First assist with placement of gastric feeding tubes, ERCPs, endoscopic
surgeries, photodynamic therapy, endoscopic ultrasounds and in-office urologic procedures.
• Perform daily inpatient rounds, by examining patients, writing progress notes, implementing a treatment plan,
organize a discharge plan as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as suturing wounds, removing sutures/staples, removing ventricular drains,
dressing changes, placement of splints, placement & removal of urinary catheters.
