turbine
Professional experience
Independent Consultant, partanen & Daughters, Inc., Chestertown, MD 2009 -
Present
. Consulting to various industries including waste-to-energy, wood
products, utilities, pulp and paper and manufacturing concerns.
. Market development for new energy products and technologies for
commercial and industrial applications.
Recent Projects
. Hired to introduce trendsetter gasification already commercialized in
Finland, to the North America market for Metso Power.
. Developed a marketing plan; prepared marketing materials; identified
market base; made presentations at a number of technical conferences;
published in major technical journals; established long and short term
market base; two active opportunities were being developed to use sorted
municipal solid waste as gasifier feedstock.
. Successfully co-fired waste cooking oil with coal at Virginia Tech;
identified this fuel to displace #6 FO in NYC's public and private
buildings; successfully tested this same product as an emulsion in the
production of asphalt; successfully tested as primary fuel in ESSROC
cement kiln.
. Economic and technical feasibility study along with preliminary
engineering to convert Coast Guard facilities from distillate fuel to
wood pellets in Sitka, Alaska.
. Economic and technical analysis of using energy crops to produce liquid
fuels and for heat and/or power generation for NREL.
. NREL economic and technical feasibility of Co-Firing Biomass and Coal at
Moderately Sized DoD Facilities
. Preliminary feasibility study for an integrated CHP energy facility using
wood waste, fish waste and municipal solid waste to produce wood pellets,
bio-boiler fuel and fertilizer along with steam for process and
electricity for on-site use and for sale in Alaska.
