a governance process to support growth. Efforts concluded with
successful $4.5M debt recapitalization which included the removal of
personal guarantees.
o Managed the outsourcing of IT and collections departments in order to
improve efficiency, which combined with other initiatives, reduced
corporate headcount by 29%.
Vertrue:
o Served as COO and CFO for two businesses of a holding company,
restructuring each for substantial cost, efficiency, revenue, and
customer retention improvement. Enhancing positioning of one for
potential sale or IPO.
o Automated and standardized lending process, moving from paper-
intensive processing to electronic, web-based portal that reduced
accounting department headcount by 8 (62%) and shipping costs by 60%
o Reduced loan risk and default exposure on a $94M loan portfolio
substantially with new underwriting guidelines.
ChoicePoint (LexisNexis):
o Transformed business incubator from "dream works" shop into multiple
sustainable businesses, assessing and distilling nine ventures to core
group of three companies that contribute $7M per year in profitable
revenue.
o Improved average revenue per billing customer by 17% with behavioral-
based and 'seat rate' pricing models supported by data cost tracking
templates to facilitate pricing decisions and data purchases
(eliminated $1M in unprofitable revenue streams). Managed
establishment of vertical sales groups, and assisted with conversion
to new data providers.
o Managed reorganization of public records division post data breach,
including architecting and overseeing development of behavioral
pricing models.
Scientific Atlanta (Cisco):
o Orchestrated M&A/equity investment strategies for $2B manufacturer of
broadband equipment. Invested more than $40M over two years in
multiple transactions. Investement portfolio drove accretive earnings
due to most favored nation pricing, mark to market adjustments and
gains from execution of zero cost performance warrants.
o Directed activities of a cross-functional team that created custom
bidding / proposal software that standardized product configurations
and program management costs, and eliminating costing / pricing
