"Lean Distribution" of spark plugs to Chrysler

creation of AIAG B10 shipping labels per weekly
Chrysler requirements, weekly transmission of EDI
ASNs and the monitoring of the Chrysler DRIVe
(Delivery Rating Improvement Verification) score.
Over the two year period, the DRIVe score improved
steadily from a 6MWA of 75% to one that steadily
remained above 98%. CWC is a 3PL for Federal-Mogul.
Distribution Product Manager for proprietary
packaging of AC Delco fuel pumps for General Motors
dealer direct and DC and PDC shipments. Transferred
distribution operation of said pumps from another
DC to Indianapolis location in March 2005;
"onboarded" supplier with Schneider Logistics Sumit
CVN for warehouse distribution operations with GM,
created GM 1724B 2D barcode labels for GM warehouse
shipments and transmitted all dealer direct and
warehouse ASNs to General Motors. Very familiar
with GM "Supply Power" website.

Met goal of eliminating 9 month backlog of
inventory transaction within specified time period.
The business used Best Enterprises MAS90 computer
system. Managed completion of distribution center
annual physical inventory with the RGIS Company and
saved $5000 by using electronic entry of inventory
records. I was responsible for starting up and
managing a 3PL distribution center in Phoenix, AZ
while managing a local staff of 3 supervisors in
receiving put away, pick and pack, and shipping
with a total of 20 permanent and 20 temporary
employees.
2001-2002 Ryder Integrated Logistics

Responsible for cycle counting, outgoing quality
inspection services, and customer service. The
environment was a start-up, cost plus, 3PL provider
for the North American distribution of all
Whirlpool service parts. Plant had 70,000+ SKU's in
a very narrow aisle, wire guided, 800,000 sq. ft.,
light assembly/kitting, RF and 3 story
pick-to-light distribution operation. It was a two
shift operation with a staff of 12 hourly and 4
supervisors.

Responsible for receiving, order filling and
inventory control operations. Managed three
supervisors and about 35 hourly employees. Company
was a women's fashions retailer with about 325
retail stores and $500 million in sales. Union

Was involved in the implementation of an RF
controlled warehouse management system; the
software was provided by Knighted Computer Systems
running on an IBM AS/400e> I was responsible for
training and managing a team of 12 material
handlers charged with RF stock put-away in a Big
Ticket DC; and also responsible for the cycle
counting operation with a staff of four.
Responsible for the biannual physical inventory.
Salant Corporation

Distribution Center Manager
Was responsible for all warehouse operations at
Salant's largest DC. These duties included
receiving, incoming inspection, stocking, inventory
control, order selection (pick and pack) and
shipping. I managed seven supervisors and a staff
of eight clerical in a two shift, unionized
environment. Responsible for warehouse maintenance
and security. Implemented computerized reserve
storage locations which enhance productivity of
stock put away, replenishment and pick and pack
with a total reduction in required labor hours of
25%. Was involved in the implementation of bar code
scanning in the packing operation; which in turn
allowed the creation of UCC128 labels and the
electronic creation of ASNs. This system saved the
company millions of dollars in assessments for EDI
nonconformance. Managed the repackaging of 35,000
dozen men's dress shirts to meet Sears'
requirements for a new product launch. The project
was completed on time in less than three months.
The DC had over 200 employees and over $200 million
in annual sales. Our customers included Kmart,
Wal-Mart, Federated and Dayton-Hudson.

Inventory Control Manager
Responsible for cycle counting, picking audits,
receiving accuracy audits and stock, restock and
re-warehouse operations. In charge of the
coordination of the annual physical inventory in a
621,000 sq. ft. DC. Inventory reached over $50M
with as many as 3,000 SKUs. Managed over 40
employees and had "dotted line" reports from
inventory supervisors at two other DCs. I led my
department through company growth of 200 to 400
retail stores and the additional openings of two
DCs through bankruptcy and downsizing back to 200
stores and only one DC. Designed "flow through"
distribution; which reduced required warehouse
space and labor and increased inventory turns and
on time deliveries. The company was not unionized.
