1. Project: Monte Carlo Marginal (MCM) - MCM is developed on the ENCORE Prices Phase III module Calibration &

Transfer(C&T). The C&T project will create the Time Series database, which in turn utilized by CES and MCM. MCM

creates scenarios for individual risk factors, using copula scenarios produced by CES and adapts them for current market

conditions, either by the application of scale factors or by regeneration based on new estimates from C&T. MCM is a GUI

application with several screens to process the data such as: Risk Factor Screen, Returns, Distributions, Conditional

Simulations, Derived Scenarios, Correlations, Simulations, Scale factor and Coverage rates.

2. Project: Encore Prices Monte Carlo Theoretical (EPMCT): EPMCT is developed within the STANS Risk

Management framework. EPMCT uses inputs from SAPH/MCE as well as PREDICT to generate a set of 10,000

theoretical returns (derivative scenarios) for each security held in OCC’s product masterfile. Once the scenarios are

generated, derivative contracts are repriced using each of the 10,000 scenarios. As it is currently implemented, MCT

does not interface with ENCORE. The application produces eight theoretical files that are used in OCC’s downstream

applications. The following are the theoretical files generated by MCT: Risk, Clearing Fund, Forecast-1, Forecast-2,

Forecast-3, Risk Group Prices, Deposit/Withdrawal Theos (Margin DW Theos and ValuableItemPrices). The MCT

application is completely executed in the batch mode with no user-interface. The MCT is batch job product, and will be

able to accommodate multiple runs throughout the day.

3. Project: Dividends, Interest Rates and Exchange Rates (DIER): The objective of DIER project is to port all of the

Dividends, Exchange Rates and Interest Rates functionality to a new platform based on ENCORE2 architecture. The

DIER application automates the retrieval of Dividends, Exchange Rates and Interest Rates data from external vendors.

Also it facilitate the users an editing facility that helps them analyze the data retrieved, flag the records that during this

analysis fail predefined validation checks, and finally allow users to easily verify and when necessary update the

appropriate records. Once editing is done and the data is approved/finalized it will be used for volatility estimates (end-of-

day pricing) and will be disseminated for use in downstream applications for calculations.

4. Project: Portfolio Margin calculator (PMC): PMC was developed by re-designing the existing Customer Portfolio

Margining (CPM) calculator/editor and Exchange Audit applications. The new editor/calculator was built upon existing

calculations reusing current formulas and adding Basket level calculations not supported by the current CPM Application.

Apart from this the new system will utilize the RBH Broker-Dealer, RBH Market-Maker profit/loss and RBH CPM files and

thus will be able to calculate broker-dealer and market-maker RBH requirements. The new input screen of the PMC will

allow users to enter positions manually, by uploading an ASCII and/or CSV formatted position file, or by combining

manually added positions to an uploaded position file. After positions are entered via the screen, users will be given

additional functionality to save locally the entered data in either ASCII or CSV file format for future use. Once a Total

Requirement is calculated and the results are displayed users will be able to view the detail data on screen or export it as

a CSV formatted file.
