to Defence Board, National Security Council, COBRA and other Government
Departments. Researched, analysed and presented military briefs to
Ministers, Chief of Defence Staff, senior officers and ultimately the Prime
Minister, on options, risks and implications of using military forces as

Delivered two year role as the senior staff amphibious warfare advisor to
Flag Officer Sea Training focusing on amphibious, counter piracy and
terrorism advice and training to UK and international capital ships as they
prepared for operations. Led and developed team of 60 instructors tasked
with training large ships in maritime/amphibious warfare across land, sea
and air environments, as well as acted as specialist consultant for
amphibious training, development, advisory and regulatory tasks.
. Assessed operational state of capital ships, identified key shortcomings
and delivered eight week bespoke training package to up to nine ships,
aircraft and helicopters, and over 500 troops, all under direct control.
Drafted final assessment training report that declared operational
readiness and identified training and capability shortfalls.
. Acknowledged by all Commanding Officers for, complex coordination and
flexible management of training in a high tempo, safe and demanding
environments.
. Reviewed and developed amphibious training curriculum that ensured

culture of continuous improvement and introduced coaching and mentoring
regime that increased performance and output.

Represented UK as lead arms control inspector, ensured inspections were

Commanded over 220 troops on operations in high threat environment in Iraq
in 2003. As project manager led achievement of corporate Investors in
People (IIP) Standard for organisation of 26,000 personnel and operating
budget of 1bn against tight strategic deadline and secured 20m to deliver
new welfare package for personnel serving at sea ensuring they were
retained, valued, motivated and ultimately operationally focused. Various
Royal Marines command appointments including numerous arduous Arctic
deployments. As Sandhurst training team leader successfully led training
of over 100 Army Officer Cadets from young civilians to operationally ready
junior commanders. Conducted numerous overseas capacity building projects,
including work with Norwegian, Jamaican, Swedish, US, UAE, Yemeni,
Portuguese and Bahamian coastal forces.
