Master of Science (M.S) in Manufacturing Engineering, GPA 3.7/4.0
GITAM University, Visakhapatnam, AP, India May 2012
Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, GPA 3.72/4.0
WORK EXPERIENCE
Bradley University, Peoria, IL
Graduate Research Assistant May 2013- Present
Working on a project to optimize the machining parameters in Wire Electric discharge machining (WEDM)
using Taguchi method.
Volvo Buses, India
Process Engineer, Intern May 2011-Jun 2011
Worked as a trainee in Process Engineering department where a time study was performed on sheet cutting,
sheet bending, assemblies and welding processes.
Improved the process design of different assembly and welding processes by the new time study performed.
PROJECTS
Optimizing the welding process of a T-Joint using Taguchi design
The variation of the Angularity of the welding process of a T-Joint has been reduced by using Six Sigma
DMAIC process.
The parameters of the process are optimized by using Taguchi L8 orthogonal design.
Redesigning Crib layout for a chemical storage facility – Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, IL
Designed a new layout for a chemical storage facility at Caterpillar, Inc using Factory CAD to optimize the
space available for a chemical storage facility.
The new optimized design has provided scope for increasing the storage capacity up to 8 percent.
Quality Control Project - Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
In conjunction with the materials department we collected data from a representative sample of 125 concrete
batches from (IDOT) to analyze the variability of Air content in the mix from the production phase to the
delivery phase.
Utilized statistical process control tools (control charts, X bar, R charts, and Cp, Cpk charts) to Identify the
capability of the process and possible causes leading to the variability in the production process.
Provided the materials Department with recommendations that would reduce the production waste by a
significant amount.
Design and Implementation of Computer Controlled Manufacturing System - Kansas State University
Designed Conveyor and Robot System to pick up 3 work pieces from 3 different pallets and to place the work
piece on a CNC milling machine where milling operation was carried out.
By a PLC sequence program, integration was made between Robot and Milling machine.
