WORK EXPERIENCE

Financial Management Technician

US Army - August 2004 to September 2009

Receive and post funding, commitment and obligations documents to accounting and budget systems. Receive

and process treasury checks for payment. Maintain disbursing files and prepare periodic financial reports.

Receive, review, prepare and compute travel vouchers. Receive; review, and process pay documents. Receive

and review contracts, invoices and receiving reports. Prepare payment vouchers in accordance with various

government regulations. Perform duties as cashier.

Administrate and technical accounting and finance functions related to the daily maintenance of the finance

office in the U.S. Army. Prepare timely financial reports, requests for funds and financial transaction in

compliance with all laws and regulations of the Department of Defense. Audits other finance companies and

offices such as payroll, disbursing, processing and customer service. Extracts and records financial data

from reports and financial records of various finance offices. Revise and/or implement processes, polices,

procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiencies in the finance office.

Analyze financial information, assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical

reports. Supervise and help develop other finance soldiers to prepare periodic financial reports. Oversee

reporting, data management and monitoring of financial database.

Supervise and ensure that all transactions are process within a timely manner and in accordance with policies.

Audits the management and financial operations of the finance office; verifies that funds are collected and

accounted for in accordance with Department of Defense policies and regulation. Prepares various internal

and external reports associated with audit activities.

Determines the accuracy and timeliness of accounting and processing records of the various finance offices.

Evaluates the adequacy of internal controls of the various offices. Discusses findings and problems during an

audit with finance soldiers, supervisors and officers and makes recommendations when needed.
