Objective
Obtain a challenging full-time position as an Information Technology Manager to utilize my background and 17+ years of IT
experience.
Education
Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science graduated 96
Experience
Weichert Realtors Corporate Headquarters Morris Plains, NJ
Manager of Information Technology, January 2007 - Present
• Managed a team that supported the WeichertOne Suite of Applications:
This suite of web applications provided Weichert real estate sales associates with transaction management, marketing material
generation and contract / legal form generation. These are ASP.NET Web Form and MVC applications written using C#. Telerik
ASP.NET AJAX UI Controls and Telerik Kendo UI Web Widgets were exclusively used.
• Used Team Foundation Server and Telerik’s TeamPulse Project Management System to manage my team’s workload. I applied
the Agile Scrum 1.0 template to both systems and followed the methodology with all team members.
• Involved with the design of a SQL Server database that stored all the people at Weichert Realtors. This was used to house data
from multiple mainframe systems in one place. Data feeds, using Microsoft BizTalk Server Software, refreshed this database
from employee, sales associate and franchise sales associate master files on the AS/400 (eServer iSeries) systems.
• Architected a system which controlled security and permissions for all people who work for Weichert Realtors. This system
helped control what features and tools users had access to in the WeichertOne Suite of Applications.
• Architected a system which supported a transaction management system for WeichertOne.com applications. This system could
be used to link together transactions in separate systems and provide a real estate life cycle tracking system. It also stored
validated property information (validated by ServiceObjects.com) which tagged a unique barcode to every validated property.
This provided the uniqueness and was vital in helping track sales associate activity on a property.
• Architected the Weichert IT Framework which provided my developers with a suite of components that unified common
functions. It also provided the necessary business layer using design patterns like composite, façade and object factories to help
developers centralize their data retrieval and provide a base on to which to build business objects.
• Architected WeichertOne Services (SOAP and REST) which provided us the ability to share data with other departments in the
Weichert Family of Companies.
Uniprise (United Health Care Group) Basking Ridge, NJ
Technical Lead, December 2002 – December 2006
• Lead a group of middle tier developers that exposed backend systems consisting of huge mainframe databases and other web
services. My responsibilities on these projects were delegation of work, coding and code reviews, technical direction,
scheduling, and status reporting to management.
• Helped build “Intelligent Desktop”, a Windows Application used by customer service representatives in call centers to process
issues, claims, provider information, check eligibility and other medical insurance needs. Its original source code was written in
Visual Basic 6.0. I was involved with redesigning, architecting and implementing a new C# .NET version. Design patterns such
as MVC, singleton and decorators were used.
• Designed and developed a security layer for the .NET version of “Intelligent Desktop”. The security layer consisted of a
combination of .NET components and XML (using XSL stylesheets for transformation). The metadata that was stored in the
XML, defined a user, and the actual groups and roles were defined inside a SQL Server database
• Worked with building communication between .NET and with mainframe systems, using COMTI and Host Integration Server.
Built a copybook parser that generated C# .NET classes representing the request and response copybooks. The byte lengths and
number of occurrences were described using custom attributes for each class field.
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the middle tier’s Issue, Claim, Eligibility, Letter Generation, and Provider web
services. These services used .NET components in order to retrieve data from the backend systems mentioned above.
• My team developed and maintained many of the middle tier components and this method of creating them became the company
standard for creating new transactions. Wrote the technical specifications on this middle tier architecture.
Extreme Logic, New York, NY
Senior Consultant, April 2000 – October 2002
• Coordinate team members of Extreme Logic, contractors, and clients on completing design and implementation of software.
Responsibilities included meeting with clients and team members, writing functional and technical specification documents, and
project plans.
• Designed and implemented components to process specifically formatted XML messages being sent back and forth between the
iEmployee (SQL Server) and Powerpay (Oracle) databases.
• Worked with Medix Resources on the design and implementation of a backend bi-directional messaging system. Messages were
encrypted and sent in NCPDP format, then received and decrypted. The decrypted NCPDP was then translated to XML, using
SeeBeyond and/or Symphonia, and used to update the database. MSMQ, MSMQ Triggers and IBM MQ Series were used for
message transmission.
• Designed and implemented an online testing application using .NET with a SQL Server back-end. I created stored procedures,
triggers and views in SQL Server. Also used ASP.NET and ADO.NET to create the pages and make calls to the database. I wrote
classes using C# to handle processing of statistical calculations.
• Designed and implemented a document management system using Microsoft Sharepoint. Documents included content sensitive
material that was made available to clients with proper security logins. All parties involved could update and exchange
information and store that information in the same central location.
• Designed and implemented a unidirectional messaging system using Microsoft Biztalk Server.
• Analyzed currently implemented systems including front-end, middle-tier, and back-end to determine areas of improvement and
bottlenecks. Made recommendations on what areas to improve from both a hardware and software perspective for both short-
term and long-term goals.
Infragistics, Cranbury, NJ
Senior Software Developer / Technical Support Assistant Manager, Sept 1996 – March 2000
• My main role at Infragistics was the development of commercial COM UI components in C/C++ using Visual C++
based on MFC and ATL. Each component employed various technologies including XML and OLE DB for database access.
Components developed were a ListBox control, ComboBox control, Tab control, Numeric control, Marquee control, and
Calendar control. Built demo and large-scale sample applications using VB6, in order to test and demonstrate component
features and options.
• Helped manage the technical support department. Responsibilities included establishing guidelines and responsibilities
for all the engineers, and assisting engineers in debugging customer issues. Took charge of customer issues and brought them to
a speedy resolution, majority of customers were VB5 and VB6 developers.
