! MEDICAL CENTER, Los Angeles, California

UCLA 2005 – 2008

Postdoctoral Fellow

• Supervised graduate students and medical fellows and provide technical assistance on flow cytometry to

lab personals.

• Optimized a method for in vitro antigen-specific CD8+ and CD4+ T cell priming by monocyte-derived

!

UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 1995 – 2005

Graduate Student

Participated in an NIH funded dendritic cell based HIV-1 vaccine project.

Supervised junior and senior level graduate students, consulted several investigators on their NIH funded

projects, and helped run a departmental flow cytometry core facility.

Utilized 6 color flow cytometric analysis to study phenotypic assessment of HIV-1 specific CD8+ T cell

memory-effector differentiation by using MHC class I tetramers and IFN-γ ICS and ELISPOT assay.

Determined that functional capacities of the central memory EBV-specific CD8+ T cells produced IFN-γ

and TNF-α in a six-hour peptide-specific stimulation.

Examined influenza A-specific CD8+ T cells phenotypically and functionally using ex vivo staining by

tetramers specific for epitopes and by IFN-γ ICS.

Developed a method for efficient and inexpensive in-house production of MHC class I tetrameric

staining reagents.
