ANTHEM BIOSCIENCES LTD Bangalore, India
Scientist November 2011- Present
• Cloning: Performed Extraction and Isolation of DNA from various prokaryotic and Eukaryotic hosts, PCR amplification and
cloning of gene into expression vector, gene expression in various hosts such as yeast and bacteria utilizing inducible promoter.
Performed plasmid DNA miniprep and maxiprep by Ethanol precipitation methods.
• Protein Purification: Purified proteins by HPLC- reverse phase and Ni-NTA columns. Estimated proteins using Bradford, BCA,
SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting methods.
• Lentiviral Platform: Performed Cloning and transfection of mammalian cells for recombinant protein production. Analyzed gene
expression using RT-PCR method and screened drugs for genotoxicity. Performed transfection using lipofectamine and PEI
methods.
• Assay Biology: Analyzed Cell viability assays (MTT) and Reporter based assays (Luciferase).
CFTRI (Central Food Technology and Research Institute) Mysore, India
Project Intern February 2011 – April 2011
• Antioxidant and Antiplatelet aggregation activity of the flower, Madhuca indica floral extract: Analyzed the beneficial health
effects of phenolic antioxidants in fruits and vegetables and concluded that the natural extract can be used as anti-
inflammatory, anti-mutagenic and antimicrobial agent. The phenolic content was found to increase with increase in the
concentration of floral extract. The content was also found to be used as a dietary supplement.
