Quality Assurance (QA):

> Leading the Quality functions of the business in close coordination with

Project Management Group, Sales, Marketing, Construction Management

Group, suppliers to raise the customer satisfaction level in competitive

business scenario.

> Management Representative (MR) for the organisation. Ensuring total

compliance to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and BS OHSAS18001:2007 (QMS,

EMS, OHSAS) and independently responsible for managing audits.

> Prepare, review and approval of Quality manual, Departmental manuals,

> Review, implementation and follow up of CAPA against Non Conformity/

observation.

> Coordinating pre -production / kick- off meetings with client,

> Review and approval of Quality Assurance Plan, Manufacturing Procedure

> Preparation and approval of Technical Delivery Conditions (TDCs) of

product such as HR plates, HR Coils, ISMB, Angles, Round Bars, Hollow

Sections, Tubes etc. Further, finalization of the same with suppliers to

assure incoming of the right quality material.

> Providing technical assistance to purchase/finance for vendor evaluation

and further development of vendors; visiting to supplier facilities for

capability & quality assessment.

> Review of test certificates, Inspection & Test Plan of raw material and

consumables.

> Reviewing customer enquiry documents, requirements in line with our plant

capability.

> Review of steel specification, raw material and consumables requirement,

technical discussions with contractors and manufacturers prior to project

commencement.

> Review and approval of various periodical reports, MIS etc.

> Carrying out data analysis to determine present standards such as defect

%, rejection %, rework%, non conformities. Monitoring performance

analysis of processes.

> Suggesting for up gradation of process /equipments modifications to

achieve quality targets and enhance operational efficiency to meet the

requirements of customers.

> Analysis and review of customer specification, evaluation of feasibility,

negotiation and asking for deviation for finalizing the contract (if

required).

Quality Control (QC): In process & Incoming

final inspection.

> Capturing cost of poor quality (COPQ) and reduced up to 40 % for

> Effective management and coordination with third party inspection

agencies such as BVIS, GLI, GAIL, Saipem, Velosi, Moody, EIL, MECON,

Tractable, TUV, GLNG, LRQA, RITES, Total etc to resolve quality deviation

through implementation of remedial action.

> Monitoring of measuring instruments inventory, availability, calibration,

distribution and retrieval including records.

> Accomplished yield improvement to 98 % and overall reduction in defects

at each stage.

> Monitoring SAP/ ERP activities of Quality Module.

> Effective root cause analysis of welding & other process defects. Reduce

the reprocess/rework activities and take remedial action to minimize the

defects.

IX, Section IIC & Section V. Various codes of ASTM, IS, ISO, DIN, EN. API

> Conducting the plant capability demonstration as per client's

specification & standards.

> Achieved 30 to 90 % reduction in defects of different natures of the

product.

> Monitoring projects with respect to cost, resource deployment, inventory,

evaluating project progress & taking adequate corrective actions.

> Developed and motivated the entire the QC team to accomplish best

inspection results ever achieved against the inspections as per product

requirements.

Welding,Destructive & Non Destructive Testing (NDT):

> Sharp monitoring of welding, destructive and non destructive testing

activities.

> Responsible for planning of day to day shop floor activities at the each

station of the plants for smooth inspection/production. Resolving issues

raised by TPIA and clients.

> Making decisions based on evaluation of Non Destructive Testing (UT, RT,

PT, VT and MPT) requirements. Providing guidance to Quality team for NDT

& QC activities.

> Monitoring of mechanical laboratory testing / DT activities such as

Tensile, Impact, Adhesion cross hatch, GSM,MEK, Guided Bend, Macro, grain

size / chemical analysis, hardness, DWTT, burst test etc including review

and interpretation of reports.

> Confirm the painting, sand/shot blasting application is done as per

procedure.

> Conducted comparative study of deferent welding & other consumables,

achieved improvement in quality and reduction in defects and consumable

cost.

> Achieved less than 0.01 % defects/meter weld length in welding.

Accomplished record minimum defects in welding (SAW, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW

etc).Ensure correct dimensional/process parameters of cold forming,

bevelling, milling, hydrostatic testing etc.

> Mentoring Quality/Operations team member towards efficient monitoring for

reduction in consumables (welding nozzles, flux, electrode, cutting

inserts, Oxygen etc).

> Accomplished minor in reduction RM consumption through process &

workmanship improvement, and revised consumption norms accordingly for

project RM calculations.

Six Sigma, Operational Excellence and Planning:

> Leading & monitoring various six sigma projects; two green belt projects

(achieved reduction in customer complaints by 30 % & reduction in welding

& fabrication rework % by 50 % .Implemented 14 white belt projects.

inventory carrying cost is minimized by quantitative and qualitative

analysis. Proper guidance to purchase and marketing department for

technical assistance and vender development.

> Implemented the cost saving measures for generating cost from scrap/by

products.

> Reviewing the AMCs. Effective vendor development by monitoring the

performance and cost benefit. Effective coordination with contractors for

timely work completion.
