This Position provides overall administration of the facilities in-house and external operations, property management, capital

planning, facility design and construction, power plant, controlled maintenance and capital construction projects on the

KCUMB campus. KCUMB is the largest medical school in Missouri and one of the oldest osteopathic medical schools in the

country consisting of state of the art academic, auxiliary, research, anatomy, vivarium and operations buildings.

Assisting the President of the College and Advancement Staff in the preparation of grant applications and donor

presentations in support of campus facilities. (Donors, Ameren, ICEF, FED, State of IL, etc.)

Manage all aspects of campus Green initiatives which include; American College & University Presidents Climate

Commitment (ACUPCC), Illinois Campus Sustainability Compact, LEED Building, Recycl ing, Performance

Contracting, Campus Building Commissioning and Tree Campus USA.

Developing and maintaining a good relationship with local government, planning, zoning and administrative personnel

to ensure timely and positive responses to the College’s facility needs. (City Council)

Meeting regularly with the Building and Grounds Committee of the College Board providing them with advice related to

the College Strategic Plan/Master Plan.

Manage the condition of College facilities to maximize the service to the College, e.g., classrooms, off -campus houses,

residences and administrative facilities.

Direct and work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Custodial Supervisor, Security Director, Access Control Manager,

Lead HVAC tech, Lead Electrician, Arborist, Campus Events Coordinator and all annual contract professionals to ensure the

College is current with respect to all government codes and regulations, as well as all insurance requirements, concerning

College buildings and grounds.

Guide the College to full ADA compliance and safety improvements in all of its facilities, including asbestos abatement,

fire sprinkler safety, etc..

Assist in developing the scope of various construction projects and manage construction work on behalf of the College.

Oversee the aesthetic development of the campus and Identify and maintain cost savings and efficiency of campus

utilities (Utility Negotiation).

This position is responsible for managing the following departments; Facilities Management, Maintenance, Custodial

Service, Travel Service, Waste and Recycling, Key Control, Access Control (One Card System), Grounds/Landscaping,

Capital Construction, Utility Management, Campus Laundry, Campus Events and Engineering Services.

Administrator of annual Facilities capital improvement budget, Facilities operating budget, Facilities staff salary budget

and the Campus major capital budget. FY07 also included the management of $20 million in major capital projects.

Manage daily operations of a 65 acre campus and maintain care of multiple buildings totaling approximately one million

square feet. In addition the campus owns more than one thousand acres of farm land.

Supervise approximately 40 employees and coordinate the hiring, training and staff development within the Facilities

Management Department.

Directly manage all components of a comprehensive Facilities Management program designed to enhance the small

private residential liberal arts college experience.

Project Manager/Architectural Tech. Specialist III (1999 - 2004)

Capital Project Management and Supervision of over 30 projects involving 30 to 60 million dollars in State Funding

annually.

Direct, evaluate, and control project activities in the construction of capital projects for the higher education systems of the

State, school districts, and for various other state agencies.

Interpret policies and implement procedures to ensure timely, co st-effective construction of projects.

Provide liaison service with higher education institutions, local school districts and with various other agencies to satisfy

program requirements within the project scope.

Review design criteria, project budgets, and project schedules.

Prepare contracts and negotiate with design professionals to develop professional service agreements and modifications.
