Deputy County Attorney

Represented the Department of Social Services, County of Nassau, before the

Courts and in administrative hearings in Child Protective Services and

Adult Protective Services matters. Child Protective Services

responsibilities included child abuse and maltreatment hearings, Article 78

proceedings, OTDA hearings, neglect and abuse proceedings, termination of

parental rights, voluntary surrenders, compliance with subpoenaed records,

access orders, orders of protection, violations and modifications of court

orders, PINS, JD proceedings, and Fatality Reports. Adult Protective

Services responsibilities included Article 81 Guardianship proceedings,

access orders, orders of protection and Family Offense Petitions. Provided

advice and counsel to the Commissioner of Social Services, the Director of

Child Protective Services, the Director of Services for Children and the

Director of Adult Protective Services, as well as, supervisors and

caseworkers in the field. Served on Medical Consent Committees and Adult

Protective Services task force. Experienced in all phases of Child

Protective Services and Adult Protective Services. Responsible for a

caseload of over 100 cases.

Represented the County in labor and civil service matters including civil

service trials, arbitrations, depositions and appearances in Federal Court.

Litigated New York State Division of Human Rights matters, including
