Jacob J. Van Slochteren
SALES PROFESSIONAL: I know no other way than to be straight forward. (Please do not look at
this as boasting), I have been trained by some of the very best professionals in their fields. Famers
Insurance Paul Clark was in the top 1% with Farmers insurance for 20 years. K Design had a
remarkable and professionally designed 10 step program that covered every objection to the close. I
discovered while working for them that if you follow the plan you cannot fail, (Though I still have
room to learn new techniques). A few great assets I have acquired are integrity, (for the companies I
represent and my customers), loyalty, teachable, and a very strong work ethic! If presented with the
opportunity to be under your employment, I will not disappoint.

SALES EXPERIENCE:
• Farmers Insurance Agent; sold agency and went to work with Bozzuto Insurance Agency. I was
given the task of building a Commercial Surplus Line business, with the ability to sell any risk that
Farmers would not Insure, (if Farmers would take the risk I placed it with them). The program I had
started along with the other agents that were employed, grossed over 10 million in premium. My
position was in sales, I assisted in the training of the new agents, as well as the CSR’s, and
telephone marketing representatives. I held my Property and Causality as well as Life and
Disability from 1990 to 2005. Licensed again in the State of Texas Property and Casualty 2013 and
it is still current.
• I had worked for K-Design (Sears, Home Improvement) in Home sales and the products, Vinyl
Siding, Windows/Doors, Remodel Kitchens, by using the 10 step sales program designed by K-
Design /Sears. I generated $15,000 in commission in 6 weeks. I enjoyed being in home sales and
worked in this profession for 1 years. I made excellent income close to $100,000. The territory I
worked in was from Bakersfield to Eureka California; from the coast and into Nevada. Even though
I loved the work, being away from Home was difficult, yet the road expense was a great tax benefit.
I like people and the job I had that allowed me to improve their biggest assets, along with saving
them money in the long run.
• Aames Home Loan job requirements were to make 100 phone calls or until you had a loan to
process. I can think of two times during the years I was there that I hit the 100 call mark. Working
for this company was a good experience. I had a base salary of $3,600 with a minimum production
schedule and a great bonus structure. I never missed my minimum and quickly made the President
club once I had 1.5 million in sales, earning a salary plus bonus for the month of $18,000. We also
had a company or nationwide contest in which we won and shared a $15,000 grand prize. Though
that may not sound like much, our average loan was $120,000 compared to the East Coast or Los
Angles average loan of $350,000. Of the 6 sales people in my Team, my sales were two-thirds of
the total sales from the contests, it was fun.
