• Serves as bilingual binder operator for the plant, operates several brand names of binding,

trimmer, stitching, and glue machines (see below under special qualifications)

• Serves as Supervisor Assistant during supervisor’s absent; responsible for over 25 plant

personnel; coordinate the assignment of crewmembers as required

• Adjust and installs a variety of machine settings, lubricates and perform repairs as

needed, fill glue reservoir, perform stitches/glue settings and clean machines and

workstation upon completion of all tasks

• Set up machines at the beginning of the day, make trial runs, observe, monitor, and adjust

controls as appropriate to run binding line equipment

• Review work orders and run specific settings and instructions on machines, detect any

malfunctions and correct or verify accuracy of machine settings

• Feed paper, books, magazines, and pamphlets into bindery machines; adjust machine

devices to correct settings for each project and inventory quantities required per project

• Punch holes, staples or signature in paper sheets and/or do thread spiral using spindles or

rollers; secures rolls, reels, wire, cloth paper and other materials onto spindle machines

• Inventory, stock supplies, maintains record of supplies

• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to

the proper handling of hazardous waste, lockout-tag out rules and hearing and eye

protection policies

• Ensures that production goals are met and keep daily record of work production

• Troubleshoots problems to maintain quality standards and to keep binding line equipment

in running condition - request maintenance as required
