Experimental Study on the Behavior of Coal Gasification with CO2 and steam by TGA
• The gasification behavior of Xiaolongtan brown coal in CO2 and steam is studied. Kinetic
parameters of catalytic gasification of coal are computed by the data from TGA.
The University of Michigan – Dearborn
Graduate Course Project
• Course Project: Simulated combustion process in a high speed turbo-charged DI diesel engine using
the Wiebe combustion model to estimate the engine performance parameters such as BMEP, Brake
Thermal Efficiency, BSFC, and conduct an energy balance of the system.
• Course Project: Design a new housing development that could be implemented in a vast number of
markets across the U.S. This development would adhere to the guidelines for LEED certification
and feature a suite of environmentally friendly energy generation technologies.
• Course Project: A study project completed on power split devices for hybrid electric vehicles
focusing on their background, unique inventions, working principle and its advantages on
improving system efficiency and output.

Estimate the Engine Performance and Emissions of Soybean Biodiesel Blends with GT-Power Engine
Model
• Develop a 3-cylinder diesel engine model with GT-Power.
• Calibrate the model for diesel to fit the experimental data.
• Run the calibrated model with different biodiesel blends and RPMs. Present the results and evaluate
the performance and emissions.
Experimental Testing on SI and CI engines to investigate combustion characteristics & exhaust
emissions.
• Involved in Test-cell setup and dynamometer testing of SI engine to demonstrate its combustion and
mission characteristics using Superflow-Engine cycle analyzer and Nicolet FT-IR spectrometer for
exhaust emissions analysis.
• Participated in experimental testing to estimate the engine performance and emissions characteristics
for soybean biodiesel blends in an unmodified diesel engine.
• Assisted in setting up data acquisition systems like Superflow - Engine Cycle Analyzer, FID
Hydrocarbon analyzer, NOx analyzer and AVL smoke meter for the test cell.
• Performed routine engine service such as replacing motor oil, filters, coolant, sparkplugs, drive belts
etc.
