Collaborated with the counterparts in Mexican Secretar a de Salud to track

bi-national cases of Influenza, Coccidiodiomycosis, and gastrointestinal

illness, and monitor severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) as well as

conduct sentinel surveillance activities. Utilized Epi-Info, SAS, MEDSIS,

ArcGIS, Cerner Utilization Review and other programs for statistical, data

management and case reporting purposes.

Public Health. Operated a high volume emergency operations and call center

designed to conduct epidemiological outbreak and surveillance

investigations. The focus of routine surveillance and data analysis

activities was primarily Campylobacter, Salmonella and Rabies.

Conducted research study on the continuing efficacy of Long Lasting

Insecticide treated Nets (LLIN) in rural western Kenya. Utilized CDC/KeMRI

facilities to conduct related bioassays, community health worker training

and data analysis activities with a multidisciplinary, multinational

research team. Learned techniques in insect colony care, pin-prick blood

draw, environmental sampling, etc. Volunteered in Ministry of Health and

Sanitation clinics performing malaria rapid tests, basic wound care and

consultation in malaria, HIV and other syndromic treatment regimens.
