Responsible for welding, aircraft, military components, & spacecraft that must be join together using “gas tungsten arc welding” with very little tolerance . All parts must be according to engineers’ specifications. Most parts have to be 100% fully penetrated and ex-rayed inspection and dye pen after welding, all welding have to be perfect. Welders must weld on materials 0.21-.500 thickness also must pass D17.1 on aluminum, stainless steel & Inco & do their own fitting using height gages, calipers and special measuring devices for each part also use different welding fixtures for each job as required.

Duties include welding parts according to engineering’s drawings or customer’s request. Welders must tacking and welding aluminum parts using the Tig welding process parts have to be X-ray quality perfection. Duties also include making repairs, basic sheet metal experience, grinding, cutting, drilling holes on parts.
