Designation: Chief Engineer DHAULIGANGA HYDRO EECTRIC Project (Aug 2000-

Dec 2004)

. Total construction of 280 MW hydro-electric Project by International

donor (Asian Development Bank) of more then 250 million USD and with

the participation of major International Contractors.

. Construction of Concrete Face Rock-filled Dam (CFRD). The height of

the Dam was about 50 meters from river bed level. The depth of cut-off

wall was approx 40 meters. The top width of Dam was approx 90 meters.

. Construction of Diversion Tunnel of finished diameter 9.5 meters along

with shotcreting, rock-bolting and concrete lining. The methodology

used was DBM. Also constructed Head Race Tunnel of 5kms in length and

finished diameter of 6 meters

. Construction of Under-ground Power House with about 30mtrs width,

length 105 meters and depth about 25 meters.

. Construction of permanent Residential Quarters of about 400 units (3

storied) along with all facilities like drinking water system (under-

ground & over-head tank), fire-fighting arrangement, High school,

hospital, consumer store, recreation club etc.

. Effective management Human resources of about 800 man power.

with 13.5km long along with rock-bolting, shot Crete and concrete

lining .The methodology of tunneling was Drill & Blast Method (DBM).

. Supervised and actively associated in construction of Pressure Shaft

of depth 750 meters.

. Construction of underground powerhouse with reinforced shotcrete with

dimension 130 m length, 30 m breadth and 30 m depth (approx).

. Construction of approach road of about 10kms in hilly areas.

. Effective management of man-power of about 1000 employees

. Total in-charge of construction of multi-lane highways with a total

length of 75kms with rich specification worth 33 million USD.

the bridges were approx 70mtrs, 60 meters and50 meters. The abutments

and Piers of the bridges were constructed over cast-in-situ Pile

foundation of 1.2 meters diameter and depth of 20 meters.

. Construction of Broad Gauge Railway Tunnel worth 45 million USD. The

diameter of the tunnel was 9 meter with length 3kms and Horse-Shoe

type. The technology adopted was New Austrian Tunnel Method (NATM) in

a rock condition varying from class 3 to class 6 which was a very

challenging job. The work involved shotcrete with wire-mesh

reinforcement, rock-bolting up to 9 meters and support system with

Lattice-Girder or steel joist as per rock condition.
