Summary of work with National Oilwell Varco, Houston (6/2010-Present)
1. I was hired on a contract basis, to design, oversee the fabrication and
installation of a one of a kind machine for torqueing large diameter casing
pipe.
_ _
The machine was controlled with hydraulic power, by Houston Hydraulics.
The system for acquiring data was designed by Stress Engineering Services. My
mechanical design effort utilized the 3-D CAD program, called Inventor, by
Autodesk.
2. The second effort for NOV, was to place a tension testing machine (5
million pounds) into service. The engineering effort was to upgrade an existing
machine to the rated capacity.
All of these jobs involved working with the management team, welders,
machinists and riggers.
