Work Experience
I carried out my work experience with BT Outside Broadcasting, which I found really enjoyable. This involved setting
up the OB van, connecting the cables to the scanner, testing the HD video signal and embedded audio. Then
managing the programme being broadcasted. During my work experience I assisted the OB engineers recover
encoders from the BBC Television centre, which had been used for Wimbledon tennis, this gave me a great insight
into how the TV MCR operated. I went to Canterbury exchange to help set up the 140 meg routes prior to the
cricket OB, then helped rig the job and test it. I also went to the BT Tower to assist in the bookings department, then
into the OB room, where I was shown how they plan and configure the vast amount of OB’s on a Saturday to SKY,
BBC, ITV and the many other broadcasters.
Employment History
• I used to help my Sensei teach the younger children at Ju-Jitsu every Thursday evening. This involved me
having to take huge amounts of responsibility as I was put in charge most of the time meaning I was the
one teaching them self-defence. This was all voluntary work.
• I also used to have a part time job at Bigfoot Bikes in Hayes Village in which I worked on Saturdays and
Sundays. This job involved me having to sell and fix bikes and also making sure that the shop floor was
tidy so that all customers could enjoy their visit.
• I work at Tesco’s Superstore in Elmer’s End, Where I am contracted to work 16.5 hours per week. I enjoy
