Clinical Laboratory Manager St. Joseph Medical Center, Houston, TX 8/2011 - Present
Provides day-to-day management of assigned laboratory sections in regards to
management of employees, performance and associated matters--equipment, testing
methodologies, test results, reports and department functions. Regularly reviews and
revises policies and procedures as necessary, and ensures compliance with hospital and
regulatory agency standards. Establishes and maintains acceptable QC and PI programs.
Orients and oversees the training of all testing personnel assigned to the section. Hires,
fires, disciplines, counsels, schedules, and evaluates the performance of employees with
appropriate documentation.
Point of Care Coordinator St. Joseph Medical Center, Houston, TX 9/2010-8/2011
Responsible for staff competency, monthly audits, monthly QC, POC and PI reports,
quarterly POC and safety tracers and review of policies and procedures. Coordinates and
assists during annual nursing and ancillary competency fair with the education
department. Coordinates smooth operation of POC testing to include Glucose Meter, DCA

procedures including blood gases, TEG, platelet mapping, bone marrow, frozen sections,
