* Medical Device Excise Tax system. Helped develop, test, and

* Helped design and write a system to report Actual Sales vs.

warehousing from BPCS files on the iSeries midrange computer and

formatting and displaying data through use of Visual Basic

through Citrix.

* Helped implement a positive pay system. This involved creating a

file to send to the bank each day with check number and amounts.

The bank then only cashes check that we actually wrote. This

prevents loss through fraud.

* Implemented packages to interact with banks and wrote in house

documentation specific to our company. These systems were

Cashbook out of Ireland for wire transfers and a Positive Pay

system using the internet to send information to our bank for

check number and amount verification.

* Assisted in implementation of Client Server BPCS CEA package. CEA

is the configurable enterprise accounting package. Wrote

translation tables and programs to convert data in BPCS 4.03 from

the current chart of accounts to a new global chart of accounts in

BPCS CEA 6.1. Tested and implemented currency conversion for CEA.

* Lead analyst on project to design, create and implement a Salary

Time and Attendance data collection system. This data together

with Grand Haven and Iowa facility time and attendance data was

converted to send to ADP payroll processing rather than run

through BPCS payroll. Processed payroll details were brought back

to the AS/400 for use in cost management and profitability

reporting and a program created to load data into BPCS G/L system.

* Helped design and implement a Voice call in line to report Tardy,

Sick, Vacation and other days off through integration of a PC

package and AS/400 database.

* For the project to combine 3 environments, one aspect of this was

combining prescriptions from three areas of the country. We had 2

ways to do this. One would take 15 hours and the other only 5. I

thought we needed the extra checking taking 15 hours. My boss said,

if he could be convinced anyone could be hurt by using the faster

solution, he would let us do the extra checking taking 15 hours.

That night an example was created in which a patient could be given

the wrong prescription and kill him. The longer conversion was

programmed and completed. There may not have been a problem with

the faster solution but if there was it could have cost the company

in lawsuits and reputation.
