Most Recent Experience:
From Sep 14, 2009 to May 23, 2011
Laboratory Technician and Designated Trainer: Consumer Testing Laboratories, Bentonville,
Arkansas.
I worked at Consumer Testing Labs on evening shift as a lab testing technician in the
Performance Testing Laboratory. My work duties were to perform physical performance tests on textiles
(softlines), mostly for clients who engaged in retail business with Wal-Mart Stores. The lab performs tests
in accordance with A2LA, ISO-17025, AATCC and ASTM standards and the tests include, but are not
limited to: colorfastness to accelerated laundering, static water, chlorinated pool water, sea water,
perspiration, mixing chemical solutions; colorfastness to light, tensile strength performance, tear and
burst resistance, wicking, absorbency, stain resistance, zipper and button strength and resistance to pilling.
As a Designated Trainer, I trained new employees in a variety of protocols.
From May 2006 to December 2008
Customer Service Representative/Inventory and Receiving Clerk: Far East Industries, Inc.,
Bentonville, Arkansas.
I represented Far East Industries at a Kennametal Inc. facility in Bentonville, Arkansas, acting as
a receiving clerk and CSR to the client, Kennametal, Inc., which produces carbide metalworking tooling
and components for the oil drilling industry and other applications. Far East Industries supplied carbide
blanks, which I received into manufacturing inventory, reconciled invoiced quantities against orders and
reported discrepancies to the FEI home office in Columbia, Maryland for appropriate resolution.
Additionally, I helped stock the carbide product into the materials crib and managed quality related
customer issues.
From December, 1999 to October, 2005
Caregiver to terminally ill mother.
From December of 1999 until her passing in October of 2005, I was primary caregiver to my
Mother. She was partially invalid and became nearly incapacitated near the end of her life. I managed her
basic needs and allowed her to live at home until a month before her passing when she moved into a
nursing home. I cooked, cleaned, assisted in her hygienic needs, shopped, did laundry and outside yard
chores. I also drove her to doctor appointments and handled the daily administration of prescribed
medications.
From October, 1997 to February, 1999
Quality Assurance Inspector, Kawneer, Inc., Springdale, Arkansas.
Kawneer is a leading producer of aluminum window systems. My duties as a QA Inspector
encompassed most departments in the factory, from receiving inspections of vendor-supplied materials, to
press inspection of freshly extruded aluminum window shapes, to inspection of window materials in all
phases of manufacture and fabrication. I was called upon to inspect for dimensional accuracy using dial
calipers, vernier protractors and micrometers. I made go/no-go evaluations based on inspection criteria of
window products in the finishing departments, Painting and Anodizing, completed Material Discrepancy
Reports (MDRs) and calculated the scrap value for unacceptable product. This report was entered into the
computer and copies were distributed to various departments for accounting purposes and ISO 9001
compliance requirements.
