Assorted Boat Work
And importantly assorted boat work.
In 2000 I purchased a 1921 43’ Trumpy design wooden pilot house motor yacht. I worked on all aspects
of the vessels from sanding, caulking, painting, from minor to major repairs, assisted with refurbishing
and even engine work. The vessel was never short of projects. I initiated and assisted with the installation
of several rule bilge pumps, a dual battery system, improved electrical systems and much more. I handled
almost all of the upkeep and maintenance of the vessel. I also learned of her history and discovered that
renowned Greek boat builder had purchased the Trumpy design to obtain his boat license as required to
build a wood vessel. I met 90 year old men who lived and played on her as children and met several of
previous owners of the vessel. I also worked and enjoyed excursions on the
Hotel Work
I was also an assistant manager at a Hotel. I began in housekeeping and within two months I was
requested to be assistant Housekeeping manager. I soon was the liaison between hotel departments, front
desk and housekeeping, dealing with customer relations, unofficial concierge providing area information
and assisting with guest’s activities etc. I later did the room inspections in preparation for state inspections
and additionally hire and trained new employees.
I have had a catering business, small coffee house/tea room, assisted in a variety of kitchens, done
wedding coordinating, all aspects of kitchen work, etc
I have done house cleaning for vacation rentals and have worked at a B&B where I am the assistant Inn
Keeper tending all aspects of the B&B from deep cleaning, guest services, special events, kitchen work,
food preparation and serving, decorating, overall upkeep, computer work and promotion, care of three
acres, gardening, renovations etc

"The Paul Butterfield Fund and Society Educational Archival Exhibit is one of our signature projects,"
Gabriel states. The exhibit represents segments of Paul Butterfield’s life and career, which currently
includes memorabilia -- posters, handbills, tickets, art work, photographs, music, videos and personal
artifacts of Paul's; representing the arts and artists of that era.
The PBFS Educational Archival Exhibit was unveiled as part of a three day multi-media extravaganza on
Dec 17th, 2004 at the Key West Hard Rock Cafe on Paul's birthday -- a day when radio stations
nationwide joined in memory of Paul and support of PBFS, by playing Paul Butterfield’s music
throughout the day.
This collection continues to grow & they hope to have it on the road at various special events in the very
near future. A segment of the exhibit is permanently displayed at Butterfield’s Roadhouse.
The venue is also offered for private parties and celebrations, weddings, meetings, etc…
