Transformational IT Leadership: Established a global shared services organization.
This support structure brought significant efficiency to the organization with
consolidated teams, sites, and targeted third party vendor management. Increased
productivity and quality of service while reducing expenses.
Technology Innovation: Created an International Processing Platform. Led this $55
million effort to consolidate four similar globally dispersed platforms into a single EU
location to support $300 million in International business. This state of the art payments
processing platform enabled substantially reduced costs, increased capabilities, and
improved customer experience.
Bottom Line Growth: Fueled nearly $500 million in new revenue by partnering with
the business and enabling their success with the delivery of stable, secure, and compliant
products and systems. Including the creation of a new ecommerce gateway as well as
multiple mobile payments solutions.
Dedication to Security: Founding member and Past Chairman of the Payment
Processor Information Sharing Council, ( PPISC). Helped establish this organization as
part of the Financial Services Information Sharing Analysis Center and provided a
collaborative forum for sharing information about fraud, threats, vulnerabilities and risk
mitigation in the payments industry.
Global Reach: Global CIO who ensured stability and accuracy for approximately 1.2
million merchants in over 30 countries throughout North and South America and the
European Union.
International Management: Provided leadership and guidance to a team of
approximately 650 people spread across nine countries.
Focused on Budget Control: Managed annual global budget of $120+ million and
average new capital plan of $25+ million. Drove yearly efficiency reviews resulting in
reduced costs from contract renewals and automation implementations. Led the creation
of multiple back office systems to include a full merchant accounting and billing system.
This enabled the organization to bring these services in-house and reduce costs by 30%,
additionally negotiated the outsourcing of all equipment rental and repair, resulting in a
$4.2 million gain and an ongoing 12% reduction in expenses.
Strategic Technology Direction: Set the technology direction for an acquisition focused
global transaction processing company. Creating, enhancing, and securing transaction
processing systems in nine data centers in six countries.
Team Collaboration: While assuming the CIO role for Elavon, for two years held a
dual role of General Manager for First Horizon Merchant Services with additional direct
responsibility for its approximately 450 people and 55,000 customers. Established cross
function teams to ensure the successful integration of this $425 million acquisition.
