PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
THE CHARMER SUNBELT GROUP
Project Manager (2006 – August 2013)
Planned, executed and directed information technology projects for many functional
areas including ERP (SAP) conversions, disaster recovery, web-based systems and
system upgrades. Controlled resources, budgets and schedules to keep projects on track
with the baseline. Continuously developed and improved the Program Management
Office procedures and guidelines.
Key Projects:
• ERP Conversions: Led full system conversions from legacy systems to SAP for
seven distribution centers, resulting in savings of over 1 million dollars annually
through operational efficiencies and hardware consolidations. Projects included
the migration of major business functions into SAP: sales, purchasing,
warehousing, finance, human resources, accounts receivable, and payroll. Over
50 people reported to me on these initiatives including IT professionals,
consultants and business associates. The budgets for these projects ranged from
2.5 to 4.5 million dollars each.
• Web Application Development: Headed two projects to write and improve a
web based goal tracking system used by sales associates and managers, resulting
in an 8 percent average increase in sales by the participants. The results of the
goal tracking were interfaced to the payroll system to automate compensation for
salespeople. Both projects had budgets of approximately 1.3 million dollars each.
• Disaster Recovery: Directed the replacement of the disaster recovery technology
and procedures for Tier I and Tier II applications at an offsite data center. This
provided a more scalable DR solution that was over 50 percent faster and resulted
in a better SLA for system uptime. The budget for this project was 850,000
dollars.
• System Upgrades: Managed projects to upgrade the SAP landscape to version
ECC 6.0, apply annual patch upgrades to the SAP system, upgrade the accounts
payable web portal to include virtual invoice renditions, and converted the SQL
database to the Unicode format.
• Warehousing: Managed a project to consolidate two warehouses into one and
provide a separate cross dock location. Directed the project team in physically and
logically moving the inventory to the new facility. Integrated the SAP system
with RF devices, transportation planning, voice picking systems, and an
automated conveyor system.
• Reporting: Managed a successful Sales and Operations Planning project to
extract operational data from SAP and use Microsoft Analysis Services to process
and automate reports, saving approximately 100 hours of manual data
manipulation per month.
