ACHIEVEMENTS: Realized a 30% cost reduction by outsourcing the

logistics

. In 2007-2008 - Accepted a one-year contract with Danieli Corus -

Netherlands to provide local project support for a number of

international projects.

. In 2006 I was hired by Onex Corporation as a specialist to review

commercial contracts of a potential acquisition and provide an expert

commercial evaluation/opinion to their senior executives

2004-2006 General Purchasing Manager reporting to the Exec VP Strategy/COO

. Primary negotiator that maintained continuity of supply for both

materials and services throughout the 2 plus year CCAA process at

Stelco

. Instrumental in establishing energy hedge programs that saved up to $8

million per month and was the first to adopt hedge programs for summer

natural gas

. Responsible for a total spend of $1.4 Billion inclusive of raw

materials, energy, capital projects, scrap, ferro alloys, steel

purchases/processing, asset & waste disposal, heavy equipment, R & M

and operating supplies

. Oversaw the most significant number of retirements in the purchasing

department having to replace and mentor 17 new employees since 2003

. Was the first to bring seasoned operators into a buyer's role and

return them to operations with the skill sets and appreciation for the

purchasing role and the need for cost reduction

. Responsible for a total spend of $650 million in annual purchases

. Lead 16 Buyers, providing strategic direction and continuous support

to meet tough cost cutting objectives

. Served on Executive Committee for strategizing the capital spend

program and cost control

. Successfully negotiated $30 million dollars in hard dollar savings and

was able to extend payment terms to assist in a tight cash flow

position

. Negotiated major capital spending and was able to offset project

delays with minimal impact to overall cost

. Responsible for a total spend of $250 million in annual purchases

. Lead 8 Buyers, managed capital spares valued at $40 million and stores

consumables valued at $3 million

. Decreased the spares inventory by $4.5 million in 2002

. Managed the warehouse operations which included 55 satellite stores

locations and maintained superior inventory accuracy with 18 operating

personnel

. Designed and facilitated system changes which allowed for automated

reordering 60% of the MRO supplies

. Reduced manpower by 36% and attained 5% cost reductions on total

purchases
