The Black Sheep Effect and Social Distancing in Natural vs. Artificial Groups

I have developed a research paradigm looking at the phenomena of the Black Sheep Effect and Cutting Off

Reflective Failure. What makes this study potentially revolutionary is the idea of looking at groups that all

individuals are apart of and dividing those groups into Natural (born into) and Artificial (self-affiliated)

categories. Everybody lives with multiple groups in each category simultaneously, so we want to see if there

is any change in reaction to an in-group deviant when this deviant is a member of one's Artificial group,

Natural Group, both, or neither.

Psychological Effects of Perceived Discrmination in Arab Americans

Directed by Michelle Beddow, this paradigm examines the Psychological phenomenon known as

Attributional Ambiguity. This is when minority group members attribute positive or negative feedback, given

to them after completing a task, to prejudice rather than their own ability, regardless of whether or not the

evaluator is prejudiced.
