PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Project Manager / Senior Engineer

1992-2013

• Manage, plan, design and implement from a concept to installation of the project for 3 complete automatic robotic lines to insert the U-Bends in the coils of the fan coil product of Carrier corporations, the robotics lines replaced 3 manual assembly lines that were using manual insertion process for the insertion resulting in the need for 15 people to insert the u-bends and some quality issues in the brazing process due to the non consistent insertion by hand, the project resulted in the elimination of 15 jobs which resulted in an average savings of a $1,200,000 per year and dramatically improving the quality of the coil, reducing the leak rate on the coils and have a consistent brazing process. Activities of the project included write the business justification, tracking actual cost, vs. projected cost, supervise outside vendors and internal resources, he 3 new robotic lines, designing the 3 new lines and support them.

• Supporting production by troubleshooting equipments and resolve production issues using my skills as PLC programmer and controls expert.

• Lead the planning for the transfer from cell maintenance to centralized maintenance and the implementation of the centralized maintenance software four rivers TMS software with the cost saving estimated to approximately $500,000. Coordinate all PM activities within the production maintenance and facility maintenance departments and implement TPM principles in both departments.

• Lead a team to implement the shop floor control system, manufacturing execution system in the Carrier Indianapolis plant with head count reduction of 16 people and the following features: transfer the label printing on the units to print on time, implement new concepts of components validation to the bill of material of the units, install visual screens on the shop floor, tie MRP directly to the floor and build units per customer demand . Activities of the project included write the business justification, tracking actual cost, vs. projected cost, supervise outside vendors and internal resources

• Supervise hourly personnel and manage the factory crib, implement cost saving initiatives that resulted in the annual saving of $700,000 per year.

• Work as a product development engineer leading projects to change the controls of electric heat from sequencers to electronic relays and worked in the team of developers to develop the variable speed fan coil and two speed outdoor units.

• Work as controls engineer in the factory to start/troubleshoot several assembly product lines.
