Professional Experience

The Su-Dan Corporation, Rochester Hills, MI 48309 – (2006-Present)

Director of Manufacturing/Tooling

(GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award Recipient 2011/2012 Two Duns locations Metals Division)

• Oversee all manufacturing operations for six facilities (Four metal facilities and two plastic facilities).

• Responsible for over 280 employees over three shifts.

• Responsible for all P&L functions.

• Developed SQDCM Principles throughout the Corporation

• Developed 5-S principles, for all plant employees, to ensure “Tour Ready” facilities at all times.

• Assisted in implementing a complete ERP system. (Plexus on line)

• Approved/directed process improvements to eliminate premium freight of 1.42 million in 2005 to less than

$18,000 dollars in 2011.

• Improved overall plant efficiencies (To quoted standard rates) that were less than 65% to an average of 95% in

metals, and from less than 50% to 87% in Plastics.

• Directed lean events for quick die change in the progressive die plants, to improve set up times from a 41 minute

average (2007), to a 23 minute average (current).

• Developed an annual review process for all employees that measures safety, quality, delivery, cost, motivation and

morale, all of which is tied to the overall Key Process Indicators, of the corporate goals and objectives.

• Improved on time delivery with all customers from less than 60% (2005) to currently 99.82%. We are a zero PPM

supplier to General Motors for five consecutive years with a 100% on time delivery percentage in which we ship

over 60 million pieces per year on average.

Director of Tooling- The Su-Dan Corporation, Rochester Hills, MI 48309

• Implemented new die standards for all stamping tools to include quick die change for the progressive die facility.

• Lead person for developing all tooling suppliers.

• Developed a system for in-press repairs to minimize press down time and improved overall press efficiency

(maximum allowed repair time of 15 minutes in-press).

• Lead a lean event for changes in tool repair and maintenance practices, which improved our overall cost for

tooling repairs, on an annualized basis, from over 3 million dollars to less than $400,000 in the first year of

employment at Su-Dan.

• Developed a preventive maintenance system in Plexus, for all stamping tools.

• Responsible for all tooling buy offs, for all suppliers, including overseas suppliers.

Sigma Stamping/Koppy Corporation, Auburn Hills, MI 2003-2005

General Manager

• Responsible for 200 employees (3 shift operation).

• Instrumental in achieving Q1 Award within the first six months of employment. (Company was Q-1 critical for 3

year prior).

• Defeated the union drive within first three months of employment with a 64-5 landslide vote. This was achieved

by working with the employees to create a team environment.

• Responsible for all P&L functions.

• Implemented the new operating Plexus Systems. The system manages all critical data that is used for QOS

measurable, as well as it tracks all of the material flow throughout the manufacturing plants.

A. Raymond, Inc. Rochester Hills 1999-2003

Operations Manager metal stampings, plastic fasteners

• Responsible for three separate divisions (Plastics Molding, Metal Stamping and Assembly)

• Responsible for all P& L functions

• Responsible for over 200 employees and a three shift operation

• Implemented a scrap CIP program due to Plastic inefficiencies.

• Assisted the French division in strategically locating specific jobs within the corporation (France, Germany, U.S.

facilities).

• Used 5-S philosophies to maximize overall facility cleanliness and organization and made it a visual factory.

• Built a team that helped turn around 6.4 million in losses with 36 million in sales (2002) into a very profitable

2003 3.4 million in profits -28.6 million in sales.

• Improved all deliveries for both divisions to a 98% on time rating from less than 75 %.

• Improved product flow to allow for multiple component inventories using lean principles for Min/Max quantities

and visual factory philosophies.
