A registered qualified dietitian with extensive experience in both acute and community

settings. Passionate about dietetics and seeking an opportunity to continue and progress

my career development using current evidence based practice.

• Varied experience of working in groups and taking on a leading role in educational,

voluntary work and activity related settings.

• During placement at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital was totally responsible for two

very busy wards. This necessitated liaising, reporting to and effectively working with

a team of about eight general dietitians.

Communication

• Effective communication skills in speaking to patients on a one to one basis on the

wards or outpatients clinics. In addition excellent listening skills and capable of

building good rapport with patients.

• Good presentation and teaching skills. Have successful conducted group talks to

nurses, healthcare assistance, dietitians and patients.

• Able to manage an appropriate workload and good time management.

• Demonstrated optimal prioritisation of clinical workload.Planned and organised my

own caseload at Birmingham heartlands hospital.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• Heartlands Birmingham Hospital for 3 months (July – September 2013).

• Coventry University Hospital for 3 months(January –March 2013)

• Warwick Hospital for 4 weeks

In these 3 placements the opportunities awarded to me allowed me to gain extensive

experience and confidence in:

• Assessment, developing patient individualised dietetic plans and doing follow ups.

• Nutrition support for both inpatients and out patients, good knowledge of using ‘food

first’ for nutrition support and a wide knowledge of different nutritional supplements

that is for both oral and enterally nutrition.

• Working under general surgery, general medicine, cardiology, oncology and trauma.

• Community work. Conducted a healthy promotion project on my c placement to

promote healthy eating for people from the low social economic status part of

Birmingham.

• Nutrition support, weight management in the community.

• Outpatient’s clinic covering various conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus,

Cardiology, IBS and weight management.

OTHER EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Personal and Care Bank 2007 - 2013

Provided care to people of variable ages and nationalities.

Supported them to live in their homes, instead of having to live in healthcare

facilities.

Supported clients with administering of medications, personal care, housekeeping,

shopping.
