As Project Manager (PM), I was assigned to manage all Product Development
projects for the Revenue Cycle and Business Intelligence products from
initiation through beta testing. This included several yearlong projects
covering new product development (BI), technology upgrades (.NET),
enhancements to existing software (Affinity Revenue Cycle) as well as rapid

milestone dates, work packages, preliminary estimates and documentation
needed for senior management approval.

level of effort estimates and resources to forecast the release timeline

My opportunities at Deltek included Project Manager, QA Manager and Project
Coordinator. As the first project manager in product/software development I
helped create their PM best practices as well as their first generation
Project Management Office (PMO). Below is a partial list of accomplishments
in my last role as Project Manager.
. Managed Costpoint ERP, Vision and Time, Expense and ESS projects from
inception through release rollout.
. Collaborated with Product Management to define the Project Charter, i.e.
business case, scope, resource capacity, budget and timeline, etc. and
gain project approval by senior management.
. Managed/coordinated over 15 projects including enhancement releases, new
product development for timesheets and expense reporting and .NET
technology upgrade/rewrite of the Vision ERP product.
. Managed projects through the five PMI process groups executing best
practices, e.g. Project Management Plan (PMP), WBS, work packages and
estimates, change control, issue/risk management, lessons learned, etc.
. Tracked resource allocations and assignments by creating, maintaining and
managing detailed task level schedules with status updates processed via
MS Project Server.
. Performed schedule analysis, baseline variance on both cost and labor as
well as progress tracking to update stakeholders and executive management
via reports and in-process review meetings.
. Established the first project management group in product development,
directing the definition of standard templates and processes for PM core
best practices such as Project Charters, PMP, capacity planning, schedule
management, change control, status reporting, issue and risk management,
etc.

Responsible for managing the Quality Assurance (QA) department engaged in
product and installation testing of web based products developed in J2EE
technologies using Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server relational databases. As
scheduling expert, managed planning, scheduling and task tracking of
projects for three different products.

. Implementation Analyst - worked with the medical records and business
office departments to analyze client processes and procedures, provide
training and offer advice on optimal use of the software.
. Implementation Project Manager - responsible for managing company and
client activities during installation of Hospital Information Systems
(HIS) and clinical data repositories. Helped forecast company revenue
stream based on license fees, professional services and implementation
progress (meaningful use).
. Product Manager/Marketing Specialist - provided sales support by
responding to proposals, creating presentations and demonstrating
products. Tracked market place requirements, created business cases,
created product fact sheets and attended user conferences.
. Development Manager - responsible for managing a team of programmers,
business analysts and testers working on software development projects
from initiation through release rollout.
. Quality Assurance Manager - for a software test team working on Hospital
Information Systems applications including federal and state insurance
