Doctoral Dissertation Aug 2008-May 2013

Developed series of novel small molecules for site-specific labeling of polyketide synthases

Extensive use of HPLC and Mass spectrometry for bio-analytical analysis of labeled polyketide synthase

proteins

Designed a novel mechanism-based ex-vivo fluorescence assay for mechanistic interrogation of key

enzymatic steps in polyketide biosynthesis. Demonstrated that this technique provides a simple,

reproducible and visual platform for functional analysis of enzymatic events

Performed extensive analytical method development to enhance sensitivity and resolution on LC/MS

to observe large proteins and peptides

Used mass spectrometry to perform structural and functional analysis of newly sequenced Fluvirucin B1

synthase proteins

Utilized and optimized SDS-PAGE, SEC, FPLC, dialysis techniques for purification and separation of PKS

protein complexes

Technical Promoter of Dyes and Textile Auxiliaries -Huntsman International June 2007- June 2008

Specialized in troubleshooting with latest Colorimetric instruments in laboratory

Collaborated with diverse and multi-ethnic teams of Research/Applications and Marketing to explore

new strategies for product development

Pioneered and implemented project ‘Innovation’ for ‘Change Management’ with Human Resources and

Marketing. Achieved 5 % increase in sales by revolutionizing company strategies across all departments

Summer Intern - Clariant Chemicals May 2006- July 2006

Worked in Process Chemistry division. Scaling up synthetic routes efficiently in pilot plant for dyes and

intermediates

Trained in other departments such as Quality Control, Production, EH&S and Effluent Treatment
