REASON FOR LEAVING CURRENT POSITION
The company I am currently associated has a culture that is not suited to
my style and personality. The culture is one of hostility where threats
and badgering take precedent over teaching and encouragement. Sacrificing
my morals in order to succeed is not something I am willing to do.

Immediate Supervisor: Steve Gusse, Vice President of Manufacturing
Accomplishments:
. Member of the Manufacturing Management Team
. Member of a team that changed the culture of the operation from one
where manufacturing was and "art" to and operation driven by
"science". In my 7.5 years at Hartmann, machine efficiency targets
rose from 68% to 76% and material waste decreased from a target to
7.6% to the current 3.2% (this being accomplished on machines with an
average of 30 years old).
Example of culture change: The machines have manual splice
capabilities for most raw materials. When changing rolls of
attachment tape, the operator can produce multiple lines with no tape,
these were trashed. I instituted the process in which any good
product that is missing attachment tape will have the tae applied
manually by the operators and packers on the machine. Operators do
not want their workload increased so they applied more effort to
timely and effective splices.
. Developed streamlined and progressive line draw targets thus
decreasing the differential strain between transfer tape and
brief/pad. This reduction in strain allowed for higher efficiencies,
less waste and an increase in line speeds between 10% and 70%. This
method called for no capital investment.
. Establish the precedent for using end seal strength and elastic creep
as a basis for monitoring adhesive
pump speed and adhesive add-on requirements. This effort decreased
adhesive used without affecting the quality of the product while decreasing
the opportunity for holes due to glue burn through. Once again no capital
investment was required.
. Film supplier quality audits
. Hartmann acquired an adult incontinence pad manufacturer and moved
production and products to the Bloomington plant. I was the leader of
the Manufacturing Technology Transfer Team (consisting of 2 engineers,
1 maintenance mechanic and one machine operator) for moving products,
machines and manufacturing processes from New Brunswick, NJ to
Bloomington, IN.
