2010 - Present: - Manager, Macroeconomics and International Trade - Devises
short and long-range action plans to address a structural weakness and
binding constraint inhibiting growth in the Jamaican economy. Supervises
work of five (5) macro economist ensure consistency of analysis for eight
(8) chapters in the quarterly economic publication and 16 chapters in the
annual economic and social publication along with the analysis of socio-
economic data. Member of various committee and working groups. Member of
the team that meet with multilateral and rating agencies on projection of
short-run macroeconomic performance. Makes presentation on economic
developments to government officials, companies, organization, and
international conferences. Served as manager of the PIOJ website with
principal responsibilities to monitor its web contents; ensuring of timely
updates; generation of quarterly statistical updates for management team of
the organization; liaise with other companies to form website links;
responds to queries from users; and coordinate and chair Web-Site Committee
meetings.
2003 - 2010 - Senior Economist- Monitoring and evaluation of fiscal
operation along with papers analyzing economic issues domestic and
international developments that impact on economic performance. Integral
part of the team of economist that formulated the long-term development
plan for Jamaica (Vision 2030) which resulted in the government of Jamaica
implementing numerous development projects and programs.
1997 - 2003 - Economist, International Trade and Negotiation Division -
Economist responsible analysis of international trade agreements and the
likely impact on global trade performance. Work targeted issues related to
World Trade Organization issues related to the services sector and the
development and submission of papers on the impact of liberalization on the
services sector.
1993 - 1997 - Research Economist - Research and Publication Division -
Economic editor for
the organization quarterly (4 chapters) and annual (6 chapters)
publications. Additional duties included conducting of research assignments
requiring the use of validated statistical techniques and analytical
skills. Attending and chairing meetings where ability to finalize a common
conclusion is essential.
