staff voted me as Teacher of the year two years showing their appreciation to my hard

input and support to make the Beta Club a success and become a goal to help our children
reach for higher standards and become positive individuals in the community and develop
leadership skills. I participated and served as Facilitator for Schools Curriculum

worked along side staff and Leadership Team with development of activities and lessons
that correlated with the Standardized Standards for the State of TN and accommodated
the new law at the time of “No Child Left Behind’ and to get community partners
invested in our school and children.
2004-2006 MVP Lawn Services
I was an entrepreneur where I started my own landscape and lawn service which was
very successful as I served several counties in the Southwest Region of the State of TN. I
went part time after being with Southwest Community Services in April 2005. Business
ceased as my responsibilities with CSA required more of my time.
April 2005 - August 2005 Southwest Community Services Agency
In partnership with the Department of Children Services, I worked to prevent children
and youth from entering state custody via the Family Crisis Intervention Program
targeting unruly children and their families. Coordinated the care for the unruly and
delinquent youth who were court ordered to receive mental health evaluations prior to
sentencing from the Juvenile Court. Also worked Targeted Case Management Services
with families where allegations were made concerning Dependent and Neglect issues
such as educational neglect, environmental neglect, drug exposed children and physical
abuse. I served with SWCSA until State contract ended in August 2005 and then I
became employed with the State of TN Department of Children Services.

local provider agencies, law enforcement and Juvenile Court Personnel.

Department of Children Services Southwest Region
Served as the Child Protective Services Team Leader for Haywood and Fayette Counties
in the Southwest Region. I currently supervised a staff of (5) Case Managers who either
serve as investigators or assessment workers. My duties are to lead and train my staff in
the performance of case management work for children under the state’s supervision, at
risk of state custody and their families. My role as Supervisor is to participate in all
investigations of suspected child abuse or neglect. Assured that staff were conducting
interviews with all alleged child(ren) victim(s) and alleged perpetrator(s). All cases were
staffed with Case Managers on weekly to monthly basis to assure that proper assessments
were completed and that adequate information was obtained thru interviews to assure that
we were making sound decisions as to the safety of the child(ren) to remain in the
environment or to be placed in an alternative custody which may result in times as State
Custody. Monthly reports and stats for Regional and Central Office Reports were
completed monthly to show progress and areas of need for improvement. Mission and
