Assistant Refinery Superintendent (Refinery Department)
Implements plans, directs and controls the overall operational
activities of the Refinery Department to attain the objectives and
goals established by Busco.
Shall maintain standards of food safety programs, like Good
Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and plant hygiene and coordinates with
Laboratory regarding Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points
(HACCP).
Keeps abreast with the recent developments in the refining industry and
recommends a dynamic updating of systems and procedures.
Coordinates with service sections in the correction of malfunctioning
equipment, deficiencies and breakdown of machinery as observed and
monitored in the entire area of refinery operations and implements
immediate remedial action.
Records/reports all activities that occur during the assigned shift;
consolidates and logs down operational data for future evaluation of
equipment and operational control.
Shall monitor, control, and maintain effluents emanating from the
Refinery with set Government (DENR) standards for air, water and solid
wastes.
Coordinates and implements adjustments required on operation and/or
install gadgets or undertake necessary remedial action during the
assigned shift to maintain all Refinery effluents within these
standards based on results furnished by the Laboratory Environmental
Analyst.
Assist the Refinery Superintendent in the training of Process personnel
to improve their level of proficiency and productivity.
Reviews attendance reports which have already logged down by the
respective Foremen and arranges the schedule of relievers for personnel
on leave of absence.
Implements the needed adjustments on machine and/or equipment controls
to attain the standard process parameters based on the analysis
furnished and posted by the Laboratory technical information and
operational control.
Recommends placements and promotions to deserving Refinery personnel
best suited to their qualifications and experience and endorses
appropriate disciplinary action to erring personnel.
Enforces safety rules and regulation, and performs other duties and
functions assigned by the Refinery Superintendent from time to time.

Monitors process materials on hand in the Property Warehouse Department
to maintain reasonable critical spares inventory.
Assist in technical works that the Refinery Superintendent may assign
and to conduct or perform necessary engineering calculations and tests
on equipment.
Conduct project studies, estimates, and undertake special projects
which are geared towards rehabilitation of outmoded machinery,
equipment, as well as job related to upkeep of the Refinery buildings
and grounds.
Prepares technical reports, evaluations and recommendations.
Give technical support to the Refinery operation personnel..
Shall assist in the general maintenance of all Refinery equipment and
machines.
Shall be responsible in sorting and effecting the hauling of
unserviceable scrap within the Refinery premises and its proper
disposal. He shall supervise arrastre personnel assigned to him in the
implementation of the 5S program.
Shall coordinate with the Asst. Refinery Superintendent for the
implementation, monitoring and documentation of food safety programs
(e.g. cGMP, and HACCP).
