SIEBEL UPGRADE 6.3 TO 7.5: Duration: 7 months, Team

Role: Part of the core configuration team involved in
areas of data mapping/Conversion, Workflow, Business
Services, Views/Screens.
Worked on the database upgrade from version 6 to
version 7. Identified configuration issues that
caused the upgrade process to break and created
pre-upgrade solutions that might minimize such
occurrences in subsequent upgrades. Eg: one of the
upgrade scripts concatenated 2 characters to all the
List of Value Type fields. This caused certain
records (30 characters) to go above the column length
(30) - these were identified and pre-upgrade tasks
were created to resolve such issues.
Participated in various workshops with the Business
Analysts in order to determine the new process that
the users will use when working with Siebel 7. Eg:
Went through the various Entry points that the users
could use to first enter the Siebel Order Management
Module and it was determined that the best entry
point would be from the Customer Portal which in turn
could be accessed from the Account
Re-Developed Order entry process, to run everything
through Quotes module to conform to Siebel 7 best
practices. Implemented changes in several areas of
the application (accounts, quotes, orders, and
workflows) to support customers' business processes
while following Siebel 7 process flows.
