2011 to 2012: Formula Student Competitions

Design and Manufacture of two composite chassis for Global Formula Racing (GFR)

Chassis/Composites Sub-team Lead in a large, international and multidisciplinary team of undergraduates, graduate tech leads, and faculty advisers to integrate sub-team systems into two competitive and successful vehicles

Physical Testing to prove material and component strength and stiffness using ASTM Standards & FSAE Rules and documenting results

Destructive sample testing using an Instron 4505 testing frame

Defended Chassis & Composite design to racing and automotive professionals

Assisted in development and practise of chassis repair schedules, plans and standards

Created Technical reports for documentation with step by step guides able to reproduce the manufacturing process and for use at competition design events

Composite advising support for Aerodynamics, Suspension, and Steering sub-team’s carbon fiber component design, manufacture, and interfacing

Managed and trained non sub-team members in composite and chassis manufacturing

Leak Test Apparatus: Design and manufacture a single device that can deliver either vacuum or pressure quietly; cheap, simple, and easy to mass manufacture
