Serve as a Senior Solutions Architect for the FDA Innovation lab to produce prototypes, proofs of concept, white papers, technology research and education presentations. Responsibilities include:

Designing prototypes for future FDA web, mobile and desktop applications based on customer needs and pain points.

Served as a Principal Solutions Architect and Technical Trainer on Monster Inc. technology and partner case management software technology, and assigned as a SME to participate in the successful delivery of end-to-end human capital solutions for the Federal Government sector. Responsibilities include:

Advised on solution enhancements by providing technical work direction and training at both client and partner meetings.

Produced technical product articles, documentation, white papers, presentations, demonstrations, trade show participation, field sales and customer consulting, customer briefing presentations, and ongoing education.

Delivered training on the full suite of Monster SaaS technology, Monster Hiring Management Enterprise to various Federal Government agencies (e.g., U.S. Geological Survey, Bureau of Printing and Engraving, Department of the Interior-Interior Business Center, etc.).

Delivered “Efforts to Outcome” case management software training to the State of Washington, Employment Security Department program team.

Developed solutions to complex technical problems, keeping current on proprietary and partner technology, and communicating progress toward project/program goals.

Accomplishments:

Automated a manual report compilation process resulting in increased productivity and streamlined reporting. Using a Java API, which facilitated the management of Excel spreadsheets, created an application that scrolled the prior month’s report into new copies and compiled all new values. This original two-day process was reduced to two minutes, saving valuable time and money, and eliminating computational mistakes.

Created an automated pricing spreadsheet application that significantly reduced the time to generate a report. This application presents users with a selection screen containing several options from which to choose. Once the user selects the applicable pricing model and payment schedule terms, then the application quickly generates a financial spreadsheet.

Dynanet Corporation, Elkridge, MD 2011–2014

Solutions Engineer, Application Developer

Served as an Application Developer and member of a programmer team that supported the Field Work System used for the collection of background data for potential government hires and security clearances. Responsibilities included:

Mapped out Solutions for remediation of systems written in Natural to Java.

Providing technical support on two separate components of the same system; the first being the existing Natural mainframe-based back-end system, and the second being the Java-based web service interface to the C# client application, with the front-end developed by other team members.

Participating in replacing the existing mainframe system with an open systems equivalent system written in Java.

Created a multi-platform application with a workstation resident client and a mainframe resident Server. The user could supply a name of a Natural program, or point the application at file with a list of program names. Natural programs would then be located and sent to the workstation without requiring any knowledge of the mainframe.

Accomplishments:

Improved efficiency of Natural server program by eliminating sequential processing loops and integrating all functionality within one loop.

Translated Natural program that generated XML output, to Java.

Created a utility class in Java to mimic “Redefine” functionality.

Zulu Software, Herndon, VA 2010–2011

Remediation Engineer, Technical Instructor

As a Remediation Engineer and Technical Instructor, my specific responsibilities included:

Interfacing with customers using a tool written by the company CEO that automatically translated multiple systems written in Natural to Java/C# and converted Adabas data to a relational database format. The result of the completed remediation was an application that functioned on open systems servers and workstations exactly as it did in its original format and platform.

Developed formal courseware for the company and assumed the role of Technical Instructor responsible for educating all clients on the company software technology.

Accomplishments:

Developed formal courseware that bridged the gap between the functional orientation of the mainframe to open systems programmers/administrators, and the functional orientation of open systems (object orientation) to mainframe programmers/administrators.

Visual Mining, Rockville, MD 2005–2010

Held various positions concurrently while employed by Visual Mining. Responsibilities included:

Using a corporate RAD tool, developed custom solutions to meet client specifications, resulting in increased sales. Customers presented sample data, and within less than a week, a sample application demonstrating how their data could be analyzed and made actionable was completed.
