Duties as a Scaffold Builder:
Part of a team that would interpret customer specifications and construct scaffolding that stayed within safety guidelines.
Assisted in regular scaffolding inspections and submitting reports to regulatory compliance department.
Responsible for going to active work sites and inspecting existing scaffolding.
Often asked to go to sites and discuss scaffolding changes with contractors
Responsible for interpreting client instructions and building a scaffold that meets all client specifications and safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities as a Safety Officer:
Assist the development, implementation of Loss Prevention Program including Safe Work Practices/ Safe Job Procedures and the Site Emergency Response Plan.
Monitor the safety performance of all on – site workers to ensure that all workers on the site work safely.
Encourage and Educate employees to take precautions and adhere to safety rules to protect themselves and the equipment they use from damaged.
Identify and review various health and safety concerns specific to the work site and ensure construction site activities do not put non- construction site people outside of the site at risk.
Investigate all injuries, accidents and near misses. Identify the causes and advise on any improvement in safety standards that need to be made.
Review accident summary reports and take appropriate action when accidents trends are unfavorable.
Ensure safety reports and data are collected.
Provide internal and arrange external safety training to employees.
Ensure daily risk assessments are being conducted.
Site orientations- weekly toolbox safety meetings – safety inspections.
Establishing inspections schedules for all tools, major equipment, lifting devices, and mobile equipment to ensure safe operating conditions and compliance with current regulations.
Assist injured workers in obtaining Modified Duties and administer the return to work policy.
