Resume:

Petar Petrov

I read on a street billboard once that in order to write about life, one first has to live it, and that is exactly what I have been trying to do to the fullest. I believe when it comes to writing, as well as most art forms altogether, there is no real substitute for this type of experience, and this has helped me develop my ability to grasp various concepts and reflect them in the most engaging and unique ways, through a personal tone of voice aligned with my clients` visions.

I am a 26 year-year-old, self-driven, imaginative person with a child-like sense of wonder that pushes me to explore and look at the ordinary from a different perspective. I have always been drawn to the countless worlds that writing, films and television, and powerful advertising take us to. I strive to master and give my own spin on the various ways these mediums and art forms influence people`s outlook on life, communicate their inspiring messages and spark the imagination.

When it comes to work, I am more than thorough and have an internal drive to bring every project`s full idea to the surface in a manner that would entice the target audience and help them relate. I enjoy communicating with people, exchanging and developing thoughts and this has always been a significant part of all my employments, field of study and interests in life.

My dream would be one day to be able to inspire others the way I have been inspired by many different form of writing, stories, films, television formats and shows, music and creative adverts.

Short stories for luxury bags

The first ‘’it” bag

Some bags deserve the wait

The heart – protecting bag

The shield bag

The bag of independence

The Fendi baguette

They say competition and the drive to be a game-changer give birth to some of art`s greatest masterpieces. The Fendi Baguette bag is this theory`s most elegant confirmation. In 1996 - a time of Prada dominance and favoritism for large minimalistic bags, the “baguette” emerged and stood as proud and exotic as an oasis among an endless desert. Its bold fashion statement portrayed how functionality and style could coexist in the form of an accessory women all around the world could wear over the chests like beautiful shields, leaving their hands free to grab any opportunity their protected hearts desired. The variety of versions in which this attribute came in held a promise of individuality not many women could resist. Now maybe you are starting to understand why this bag`s exclusivity was the ignition behind not only the famous “waiting list”, the “it” bag term, three “Sex and the City” storylines, but also a movement which many women are proud to walk today.

The bag of eternal class

Class in a bag

Class in a bag through the darkest of times

The Gucci Bamboo

Some sparks of genius take the darkest of times to ignite, and that is why the Gucci Bamboo`s dolce vita aesthetic shines as bright as a lighthouse in a storm. In 1947, a year stained by the World War II restrictions, the Gucci craftsmen found the solution in Japan, developing a way to heat and bend bamboo without breaking it, giving birth to this bag`s iconic handles. The Gucci Bamboo represented the everlasting class that retains its character under any pressure. The bag stood strong well after the end of the war and was worn proudly by the 50s and 60s biggest celebrities. Today, it rises once again like a mighty phoenix for a whole new wave of superiority.

Education and certifications

I have a B2 certificate in Spanish.

2002 – 2010 First Language School, Varna, Bulgaria

I went to one of the most respected highschools in my hometown which was focused on studying foreign languages. There my English picked up and reached a much higher level than before, even though I had been studying it long before that. I also acquired useful experience with preparing presentations and talking in front of people since from the very beginning most of our subject involved a lot of presentations in front of the class.

2010 – 2014 Glasgow Caledonian University

I graduated with an Honours degree in Media & Communication from Glasgow Caledonian University. The reason why I chose this course was mainly because I wanted to get behind the scenes of moviemaking in particular and other creative areas like TV, adverts and music. It is a field which revolves around expression skills, coming up and communicating creative ideas, messages, pitches in a powerful and encaptivating way. Presentations to people through different mediums on various subjects was a very important part of this course. My modules involved analysing and making movies, writing film scripts and storyboards, understanding creative advertising and marketing and working on briefs for real products, learning the way music industry, radio and TV production operate. I believe all these practices and tasks have really helped me when it comes to talking and finding common grounds with different types of people, tackling a vast range of topics from various angles, expressing myself within the frames of certain mediums, contexts and themes.

The spheres I enjoyed the most were:

Feature writing: - this module pushed me to try and adapt my writing voice accordingly to what I am writing about while still preserving my unique point of view. It helped me learn to pinpoint a story within a simple event or project, so I can be able to convey the message behind bigger ones later.

Video Production – storyboards and editing especially. I loved putting into paper the scenes and images I have in my head and communicating them to the cameramen, working together towards a joint vision.

I particularly enjoyed learning about editing, how underrated it can be sometimes. It acts as an internal engine and heart of a movie, creating an internal rhythm, making a huge impact on the final shape of the story and how the viewers perceive it. I discovered it to be a beautiful intersection between art, storytelling and technology.

Creative Advertising – how to make a product stand for something bigger than itself and create an emotional bond with the people, come up with imaginative ways to represent something in a different light taking into account the medium that has to be used.

Marketing – this module was more focused on the business and research side of the advertising world, how to target the right audience and best catch their attention.

Media Analysis - this involved studying the details of the tools the different medias use in order to communicate their ideas, the language and stylistics of films, TV shows, adverts, radio programmes and music channels.

Dramatic script writing - this module was focused on 2 parts:

First was observation and analysis of films and particular scenes in which one could see the writing behind them which made them great and memorable; how the writing collaborates with the directing in order to make a more powerful impact

Second was writing scripts for short films or TV episodes or miniseries. We simulated the environment in which professionals come up with their work. In our own time we came up with ideas for characters, plots themes and then in each class each shared their progress, we suggested ideas to each other in order to help tell the story, add a trait to a character that can make it richer and more meaningful.

Other Skills and Activities

Sports

From a very early age I was involved in different sports which developed my discipline, my strength of character and a healthy competitiveness. I trained karate for 4 years in which I was twice a republic champion which I believe taught me a lot about the inner power. I also trained football for five years during which our team was participated in various leagues and tournaments for youngsters. This was the sport that first through which I first understood the importance of being part of a team. I also trained swimming for two years and attended different contests.

Activities

In highschool I got into writing short stories and two of them got published in the local newspaper. I won a contest for writing a slogan for the airconditioners` brand ‘’Elit’’ and my suggestion was aired on the radio. All throughout highschool I got more and more passionate about films, TV series and all of the movie aspects. I started watching all kinds of films, observe how they are done, dedicate my own time reading and learning about the different film techniques, practices and the various styles different filmmakers employ. I also got more and more interested in the art of advertising and especially the adverts which start movements and depict one idea within many different scenarios in order to create something bigger than a product. The examples are many and can go from quotes, slogans to television adverts and even sort films which I Have found very inspiring.

During my time spent in Glasgow I participated as an extra in a soap opera which I wanted to do in order to observe the shooting processes on the set, and also even though some of the scenes I participated in I was just part of the background there were a couple of scenes where there was some acting involved and I played a part in the story.

I have also written short scripts for contests and attended many workshops on film making and script writing.
