I am an enthusiastic and motivated general surgeon with special interest colo-rectal surgery. My approach is always working within multidisciplinary team but I am also experienced enough to work well alone in challenging situation. I am always available to give expert opinion for the safety of the patient.

I believe in excellent communication with team members and patients to provide good care therefore I maintain a positive and relax attitude towards my team members and provide adequate information to the patients. I enjoy working relations with my colleagues and with my patients.

For the last thirteen years in current post I have innovated and polished my surgical skills along with my leadership and managerial qualities. Collectively these attributes have made me a successful consultant surgeon and now I want to share my success and experience with others. It is also my passion to train young doctors and Nurses for the future of modern medicine.

Clinical Skills and Experience

I have gained vast experience and surgical skills in General and Colo-rectal surgery during my career to date.

Colo-Rectal Surgery:

In my current post I am performing benign and malignant diseases operations. Regular audits have demonstrated that my results are exceeding the minimum standards set by ACPGBI.

Benign Abdominal Surgery

I am regularly performing both emergency and elective operations for benign intra-abdominal conditions which include variety of pathology like inflammatory bowel disease requiring small bowel or colonic resection, complicated diverticular disease requiring colonic resection, bowel obstruction requiring bowel resection or adhesiolysis etc.

Ano-Rectal Surgery

I am now expert in anal outlet surgery and can manage with confidence ano-rectal pathology. I have special interest in Haemorrhoids, fissure in ano, complicated fistulae and other ano-rectal conditions management. I perform variety of operations in order to treat these conditions. I can perform open/staple haemorrhoidectomy, pedical ligation or simple banding of haemorrhoids. Botox injection or sphinctrotomy for fissure in ano. Fistulotomy or rectal advancement flap repair, LIFT procedure and plug repair for fistulae in ano.

Pelvic floor Repair

I have gained experience in rectal prolapse and anal sphincter repair surgery. I have performed pelvic floor repair procedures as joint approach with Gynaecologist which include Rectocoele, vaginal and rectal prolapse repair and recto-vaginal fistulae repair.

Colo-rectal Cancer Surgery

I have developed and polished my techniques of Abdominoperineal resection for very low rectal cancers which I perform on prone patients and repair the Pelvic floor with collagen implant. Our colorectal unit have also published our results. With years of experience I am now confident to resect colonic and rectal cancers in their oncological planes with excellent results. I am entering my cancer data in national audit for the last ten years. Every week we hold a Multidisciplinary meeting for cancer and complex surgical patients requiring multidisciplinary approach (surgery, oncology, palliation etc)

General surgery

I have gained vast experience in general surgery of both elective and emergency procedures. I can manage most of the intra-abdominal gastrointestinal tract surgical pathologies with confidence. I can also perform the following confidently

Complex abdominal wall Hernias Repair Operations with collagen implants by component separation techniques.

Simple hernias repair under local, regional and general anaesthesia
