Senior Designer/Project Manager

Developed and implemented drafting standards, maintain both hard copies and electronic files of all SolidWorks CAD models and drawings created. Designed the current drawing template format; linking certain fields of information in the title block to fields of information in the model properties; allowing engineers the ability to automatically populate certain fields when creating drawings.

Designed procured and built, several weapons systems with a team of engineers, as senior designer/drafter. Delivering complete packages of working drawings, (100+) as required by contract including Work Travelers, detailing the assembly instructions of the systems to the customer.

Project Management experience with the procurement, assembly, and delivery of 45 EOD/IED training kits to the United States Marine Corps. Developed pricing estimate in the bid and proposal process, organized and maintained a vendor database for over 100 items that were included in the kits. Managed the logistics, and procurement for all the items that composed the kits, while maintaining contact with vendors, from the initiation of purchase through receipt of items. Managed a 6-member team that assembled the kits, successfully delivering all 45 kits on time and within budget.

Product Design Engineering Dept. Draftsman

Developed and implemented drafting standards, coordinating with 8 engineers, 1 designer, and 6 machinists to update the standards from a 1-person design/drafting operation to standards adopted by the entire engineering department. Creating a more cohesive and efficient concept to product environment. This greatly increased communication between departments; by identifying and eliminating major design flaws in the early stages of design for manufactured parts and equipment, I was able to reduce cost in designs revisions and production overhead.

Managed all drafting duties for a team of 4 engineers, these duties included completing drawings from start to finish, peer-review of drawings completed by the engineers insuring correct use of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) standards, and correctly documenting all reviewed and release drawings.

Designed and built test equipment, for various QC test using Autodesk Inventor. Performed endurance, failure, and environmental exposure test to name a few. Conducted the test, reporting all key finding to superiors, both written and orally.
