Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting preliminary and final reviews of statements of personal history and related data prior

to initiation of background investigation procedures.

• Review completed background investigations of individuals who would occupy positions where a determination of suitability for employment or access to classified information is required.

• Assist in the adjudication of personal background investigations for suitability for employment with the government and/or granting of a security clearance. This includes the drafting of summary sheets on the results of investigations for all assigned cases. In cases of derogatory information, the Contractor shall draft a detailed evaluation of the adverse information to include serious issue cases. When the information is insufficient to make a recommendation regarding the disposition of a case, the employee shall draft a list of recommended questions or lines of inquiry necessary so a recommendation can be made.

• Conduct routine and/or confrontational subject interviews on behalf of the Client to verify information listed on statements of personal history or resolve items of derogatory information developed during the course of background investigations.

• Ensure that sensitive investigative data is handled and controlled in a secure fashion to protect the interest of the Client and safeguard the rights of the individual.

• Provide administrative support to other Personnel Security Specialists in completing actions in support of the Personnel Security mission.

• Provide personnel security guidance and assistance to managerial and administrative personnel throughout the United States.

• Provide customer service support with regards to personnel security to the Client. Support includes but is not limited to the following: Processing security clearance requests, Contractor Waivers, Initiating e-QIPs and resolving e-QIP issues and/or questions, reviewing e-QIP packages and processing investigations to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).

Process requests for access to National Security information to Headquarters

• Analyze information and provide recommendations on waiver and adjudication determinations

Possess thorough knowledge of e-QIP, PIPS, CVS, NCIC, fingerprint card and live scan processing and, security databases.

• Create new contractor cases in JSTARS in a timely and efficient manner.

• Manage the employee roster to include removing personnel that are no longer working for the Client or the districts, adding new contractor personnel, adding clearance information, etc.

Participate in cross-training and assist with the training of new personnel, as directed.

• Submit time and expense reports per Company protocols, comply with Company and contract policies and procedures, support other duties as assigned by PM or Company Leadership.

Manage the dissemination of all Contractor Security Waiver packages

• Obtain and distribute background investigations and security packages to all personnel

• Create Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) files- update and maintain

databases (i.e. JSTARS)

• Process security clearance request, Contractor Waivers, Initiating e-QIPs and resolving e-

QIP issues and / or questions, reviewing e-QIP packages and processing investigations to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)

• Prepare folder for circulation to Security Specialists when documents are received

• Organize, scan and circulate Internal Revenue Service-Tax Check Waivers for SAUSA
